Mazzulla really needs to think about not playing Hauser anymore in this series. Especially not with Pritchard already on the floor as it kills the defense.

Some of those lineups he had going were frightening.

Hauser, Pritchard and kornett on the floor at the same time?

Is this a troll on us?

Why are the variables an excuse? In other words, what happened is why you don't employ that strategy. It was dumb.

Joe really gonna trade free throws for free throws down the stretch giving the Celtics inability to hit clutch free throws?

Brown making those two free throws was flabbergasting to me if I'm being totally honest.

Yeah you trade free throws when you are up 6 and there's like 10 seconds left, because there's at most 2 possessions left.

Thanks for the confirmation though that Brown was that guy and not Tatum.

Stop this stupid rivalry between JB and JT. It's all in some people heads (too many)

You're misunderstanding the point severely.

No, I don't. How many winning or tying shots in the playoffs JT made? The layup vs the Nets. I ask cause honestly I don't remember.

I think it’s nuts that people are abandoning ship when it comes to Hauser and Kornet. They both had very good years and are good players. They had bad games. It happens. It’s on Mazzulla to not play our 3 bench players at the same time. That’s not smart. I guarantee that our bench will play better going forward as long as Joe puts them in a position to do so.

seriously, just D up, he was already passed the 3 pt line. Live with the shot and contest without fouling.

Sam and PP can still play well. Think we'll get 1-2 good games out of each of them.

Kornet's in a tough spot given how we're trying to defend.

I think it's a good thing. Jaylen has taken on (seemingly) more of a leadership role this season, and especially in the playoffs. If he's pushing Tatum to be 'Big Deuce' that might be what JT needs to stay aggressive in key moments.

Kornet, Hauser and Pritchard were on at the same time for like 10 seconds in the entire game. Hauser replaced Kornet in the 1st, Kornet replaced Hauser in the 2nd. Hauser entered at the 2:38 mark in the 3rd and Kornet left at the 2:25 mark.

such a loser mentality LMAO, toughen up Lee Van. That's the weakest post of the year man.... Raps beat an injured Warriors team, Bucks beat the Suns, Lakers bubble Title, Spurs had the Heat on the ropes again and choked, 2010 was ours for the taken and injuries at the 5 killed us in the end, etc..... It's called sports/competition. Anything can happen!

tfribs45 wrote:I'm shocked you all aren't questioning Mazzulla from last nights debacle? Why the heck are we trying to foul with a 6pt lead and 12 seconds left on the clock?! He pulls JB and JT whenever we had a double digit lead and the bench blew it each time ? Just some real questionable moves......On another note I feel so sorry for Abby Chin during those postgame interviews. She can barely crack a smile because Joe keeps rambling and is VERY nervous around her. It's been a few seasons now, you'd think he'd loosen up a bit LMAO.

Joe had his mistakes during the game, first and foremost playing PP, Hauser, Kornet lineup that lost the lead the second time
On the other hand - the end of game management was good - timely TOs, the play to get JB the 3 to tie the game was great and the adjustment to move Al on Siakam cooled Turner off

I am a Joe critique all year long but there are some improvements I can see in the last couple of months and I give Kudos where there should be

PP-Hauser-Kornet lineup happened for 12 seconds and they were +0.0 (or -0.0 depending on your outlook on life) in that 12 seconds.

Let's not pretend missing KP has no effect.

Cs without KP are just like the previous Celtics team lacking a star big man.

Part of the reason why the Cs got 64 wins is because of KP.

The rim protection alone, from KP, is a game changer.

Cs are not as great when they don't have KP.

A loss would've been demoralizing and this could've easily turned into last year's ECF when the Celtics lost the first 2 home games against Miami. That's how that big that JB 3 was. Boston escaped with this one and we'll take it. It's time to stop the narrative that we're suppose to steamroll over the Pacers. They've got one of the best offenses this year and they got a championship coach. Happy our guys came through. Jrue and Al were big. The Jays did their job and didn't shy away in crunch time.

pritchard/kornet and hauser/pritchard and hauser/kornet are the lineup killers. whether they're all in at the same time or not. 2 of those guys being on the floor at the same time was a huge part of the pacers hunting kornet/horford. hauser especially got lost on multiple possessions leading to wide open layups. he also didn't score a single point so he contributed nothing positive the entire night

If I said Sam Hauser was bad last night that would be a compliment. Hauser was really bad. Hauser was so bad that Mazzulla had to remove him from his normal minutes -8 in 9 minutes. Celtics desperately need more from Hauser or Mazzulla has to give someone else a shot.
