How could Ant throw the ball away like that? what should have been 2 or 3 for us to close the half ended up being 3 for them. We did not take care of business in that first half.

Wolves will win it all now with Denver out of the way. . Ant hasn't even had to be a superstar.. Once he gets it going its Game over for Dallas and Boston

BTW the refs allowing contact generally favors us, but they are all over KAT. Not gonna be a good look on the highlights.

Tough battle as expected. ANT is absolutely destroyed in défense right now. So good to see Jaden and Slomo carry the team on offense. Go wolves !

Other than McDaniels and Anderson that was a really poor half for the Wolves. They gave up to many 50-50 rebounds and did a terrible job of containing Irving.

Kyrie is not Murray. You have to defend him as a team. Ant cannot take him one on one. We are struggling keeping him away from the basket or even challenging him when he does get in the lane.

We should be up by more than three the way we shot that half.

It's a good thing we shot the lights out because that was the most embarrassing display of defense I have seen all season.

I don't know if it's because we just played Denver which didn't have anyone who could beat you off the dribble, but Dallas looks like they have a turbo button because our reaction time and footspeed is dreadfully slow.
Just abysmal like we are stuck in cement.
And there is no 2nd layer of help, help defense is way too slow to square up and get in position they are just flailing away at a block too late. If I were the coach I would be imploring them to get in front and take some damn charges.
A middle school coach would be upset at the lack of effort, technique, and discipline.

Disgusted with the defense.
Amazed at the shooting.

Let's start playing Timberwolves brand basketball because a shootout is not to our advantage.

I'll be curious to see what defensive adjustments the Wolves make at halftime, because the original plan is clearly not working.

This series is prime example of why I wanted us to get more practice running a trap/high wall defense in the regular season.

It feels like the Wolves are generally winning, then make a mental mistake and the Mavs always take advantage for an easy shot.

Ant has 9 rebounds and 5 assists but as good as that sounds he also has some bad turnovers, has been too quiet on offense, and bad on defense. You talk the smack you gotta show up and back it up.

Am I crazy or is Ant playing too tight (too "up") of defense on Kyrie when they're matched up? It's allowing Kyrie to blow right by him.

The others shooting 9-18

We have to get that percentage down for the others. 3-point defense has been great, but we're letting them attack the rim.

That being said, if the second half unfolds exactly like the first half did, I like Minnesota's chances of winning the game.

They are living in our paint, they spent so much time there in the first half they are halfway to Minnesota state residency.

They are shooting 57% even though 2/13 from 3, most of those wide open.
We can't win a playoff game giving up 57% shooting.

Mike only played 12 mins in the first half, I hope his achilles is okay because we need him.
