Naz Reid agent messed up with his contract?
a mobile 6-9 PF/center at only 24 years old just shot 60% EFG and he along with his agent didn’t bother to talk to other teams and agreed to a 14 mil per year contract for 3 years.
compare thar to what Chuckers like Poole, Kuzmaand DLo are getting.

One thing i question is whether Naz's performance is sustainable on any team or is this a flash in the pan. He's definitely killing it, but we've seen role players get overpaid, time and time again for 1 amazing post season.

Re: Naz Reid agent messed up with his contract?
I think it's more like he outperformed his contract this year. Before this season he was only playing 18 minutes per game, and shooting 34% from 3, this season he averaged 24 minutes per game and 41% from 3. Although he took more shots but his fg% went down by 6 percentage which is a lot. So he was better from 3 but worse from 2. Those percentages are practically identical regular season and playoffs.
I do think he'll get a bigger contract next time though. But I wonder if he wants to stay in Minnesota and be the 6th man or try to be the #2 guy on a team? You really can't play him with Kat very often, or maybe they trade Kat they actually benched Kat for him in the 4th quarter last night.

Yeah at the time it was pretty fair…I doubt other teams would have gone much higher. He has outplayed his contract and will get some nice coin in his next one assuming he keeps it up.

Third year is a player option so after next year he can test the waters and get a raise if it’s deserved.

Both his contract and role are very similar to Bobby Portis.

It's totally a valid point but if He and his agent truly believe on his abilities, then he should have just sign a 2 year with a player option on the 2nd year like what D'Lo did.

I remember calling it a steal for fhe Wolves when it was signed. I always loved this dude's game and potential. He could be starting on many teams in the nba.

It's sustainable as long as he's making the three, mainly because he has the best handle in the league for a big and when you close out on him he can get all the way to the rim. I think on another team he probably has inflated numbers because he's allowed more freedom to do more, his numbers as a starter were very good.
Like if he were a free agent at the end of this season the Sixers, Spurs and Pistons would probably offer a boatload, his agent definitely dropped the ball.

Good comparison but yesterday he was playing with Giannis sitting in the last 30sec with Dame passing to him twice.

Re: Naz Reid agent messed up with his contract?
This wasn’t Naz’ agent messing up. It was Reid’s choice.
Wolves GM Tim Connelly was offering extensions all year, but he could only pay Naz to be a third big behind expensive Gobert and Towns, and couldn’t offer the minutes that several teams could pay him as a starter. According to the The Athletic’s Jon Krawcinski, owner Glen Taylor called Connelly days before free agency opened and said, “Get it done.” Connelly offered more, and Naz took less, right before free agency.
When Naz was asked why he didn’t wait, he said that he wanted to be on this team, with the other players. That was his family. He also said that he appreciated the organization giving him a chance when he got drafted as a pudgy center from LSU. He has said after going undrafted, he realized he’d have to work a lot harder to develop his game. GM Gersson Rosas gave him a Hinkie special, four years at the minimum, all team options. But Naz appreciated the opportunity so much that he worked his ass off to improve his game and his body, and wouldn’t even take breaks in the summer. He is very popular with his teammates, and described as the most competitive guy on the team, and he was willing to take less to stay - maybe the first player to EVER do that in Minnesota.

He's only 6'9? Reggie Miller kept calling him a 7 footer for some reason.
