Really hoping the Oilers can get it done. McDavid is just too good to not have a cup.

Hah, that near-miss by McDavid in the first OT period was akin to TD missing the crunch-time bunny in Game 7 of the 2012 Finals.

Or, if it ever happened (which it probably never did), Lebron being blocked by the rim on a wide open dunk attempt.

Anyone who is unaware or forgot, ROR said it wasn't a contract issue and noped the **** out of Toronto citing the locker room / culture.

Dude came in with so much positivity and grit to win a Cup longterm with his hometown team and he had seen enough in his three months here.

Didn’t he imply he wanted a bigger role for himself but the team didn’t see it the same way? Pretty sure it was just a role dispute.

ROR was consistent about Nashville being a better (role) fit, said his body still has a lot to give and wants to establish the right culture on a team.

First year in Nashville
- played 1C
- TOI 2 mins more than with the Leafs
- immediate cultural impact in the org, one that already has a respected Roman Josi as captain
- Preds go from missing the playoffs to making it

I find it hard to believe the label of 1C and two more minutes of TOI were the sticking points. ROR didn't plainly say it but fit/role appears to mean impact on ice/style of play and fabric of the team culture, things he was allowed and asked to do by the Preds org that they immediately accepted in pursuit of winning the right way.

Leafs probably said lead by example but don't scare the kids and don't take it personal if they don't follow suit, just keep on setting a good example, we'll be right over here applauding what a pro you are, let's go win a Cup.

Yep, he looked at the two star players, leaders of the team in Matthews and Marner, and said **** it, I'm out of here. These prima donnas are not winning a damn thing anytime soon.

If that wasn't an indication to the Leafs, along with years of not making it out of the 1st round, that they need to move those two, then nothing is changing.

I have no idea about the Leafs back story. But as a Canucks fan, even though he only had two points in 6 games he made me nervous during the playoff series. What a turn around the Predators have done. Sell off last deadline and still make the playoffs this season. Nice job.

Big win for Edmonton tonight. One win away from a ticket to the Stanley Cup finals. I hope they can do it.

It's surprising to me (a casual with respect to hockey), but Oilers have been consistently better than the Stars in this series. No question they have the best two players on the ice, and a serviceable goalie. I expect them to get it done in Game 6.

Outshot 35-10. If you replayed that game 10 times, Dallas would win 7 or 8 times.

But who cares? Game 1 next Saturday (June 8).

I promise to this board that if the Oilers win the Stanley Cup, I will finally watch a Raptors game for the first time since 2010 (didnt even watch a game during the championship season/playoffs) and base all of my Raptors Board comments on facts that I watch instead of things I make up in my head.

Actually, naw i take all that back, but I stil want the Oilers to win the Stanley Cup.

Oilers up 3-0 after 2. Pretty amazing what they’ve done. Hockey is wild.

It's true. Barring a 3rd period collapse, they should win this game.

I just hope the Oilers keep this up in game 7.
