Im praying Bobby's value isn't Grant williams after he pissed everyone in Dallas off.

I'm fairly certain we were getting a 1st in the deal, and the reason we didn't do it was there wasn't anyone we could get with that 1st, or even 2- 1sts. Those players, like Murray, Herb Jones, and Caruso, were all pulled off the market.

I wonder how close Horst ever was to Donte and change for Schroder + Williams.

Stark contrast to just Serge of course. Think he might have negotiated tough with Boston who were more likely to trade Schroder on his own but said F them.

And I’m not certain it was the Bucks that pulled out this deadline vs Dallas preferring PJ Washington.

Possible something like the Mavs first + Portland 2nd could have gotten DFS or the like. Or we bank the pick and could trade 3 firsts draft day.

We didn't get just Serge for Donte. We landed 2- 2nds, one of them being #33 this year. Nets weren't selling on DFS either, teams called and made 2-1st round pick offers, but the clueless Nets didn't bite.

The Mavs loved Bobby's shooting and rebounding.

We should have traded for Williams, could have put him on Siakam. Bobby shot 25% from 3p 48% fg whoop de freaking do, I'd much rather have had Williams defense and passing, not to mention his playoff shooting %s are pretty damn good. We probably win that series with Grant Williams tbh, dude is a playoff stud and he would have definitely made it a lot harder for Siakam to dominate us.

Bobby averaged 17ppg and 11 rpg with a team best plus/minus. Siakim destroyed Brook, but was rather ordinary once we put Bobby on him. I couldn't imagine how bad we would have been destroyed on the boards with Grant Williams as the PF, and no one to play center when Brook was out.

Dude is a workhorse, so it's hard to know how much to read into it, but it does feel like he's been extraordinarily invisible.

Championship year Donte was well worth extending.

Issue was always health. And price for related reasons.

It does seem like his shooting isn’t where it is without Steph. But if we would have paid him what the Knicks did a year earlier we’d be plenty happy considering his injury situation has improved.

Daniel Gafford - bad salary filler and the 29th pick
PJ Washington - Grant Williams plus a protected-1st
Derrick Jones Jr. - vet minimum signing
Naz Reid - undrafted two-way contract
NAW - 2-year $8 mil contract
Jaden McDaniels - 28th pick in the draft

Seriously, let's just sticky this list every time someone asks.

Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington were great pickups for Dallas. Would Love to have seen the Bucks make the move for Gafford.

Just signed an extension with Baskonia through '28 but he'd be a great bucket getter off the bench. Ex Marquette alum.

My thing with Donte is always that he prevented himself from being a long term asset. Bucks were in extension talks for seemingly years with him yet a number could never be agreed on. He accused the Kings of limiting his role to lower his free agent market and after a down year off the injury was still looking for +MLE money by reports which he was never going to get that led to them rescinding the qualifying offer rather then having a lame duck, disgruntled player play out one more season there and leave. Furthering the idea that the money wasn't there he signed the TPMLE with the Warriors, basically betting on himself and insuring that any success he had would lead them to not being able to retain him. After all that he still only received the MLE from a team.

Watching more film on Isaiah Stewart. Things I noticed:

He's a good ball mover. When he's on the ball, he's making quick and easy decisions. The ball is not stuck in his hands. When he's off ball, he's generally in the right spots. Very prominent player in PnRs/PnPs. Good screener.

The jumper is very real. Shot preparation, mechanics, speed and movement. I would expect this to become an even more prominent part of his game (currently 38% from 3 on 4.4 attempts per 36).

Physical defender. Can take a bump from even the strongest of players and recovers quickly for the block. Good feet movement.

I think he's moving to the top of my target list for this offseason.

Yeah, I'm finding it harder and harder to get away from him when concocting trade ideas. Just adds so much of what we could really use. Think fans will love him as well, fiery blue collar dude like Bobby, just a better fit on the floor.
