OKC/DET

Post#1 » by MoneyTalks41890 » Sun May 26, 2024 3:34 pm

It’s not a particularly new or interesting idea but I am interested in feedback about it.

OKC out: Josh Giddey, 12, 2025 UTA 1st (top 10/8 prot), 2025 PHI 1st (top 6/4 prot), 2025 MIA 1st (lotto prot)
OKC in: Isaiah Stewart, Marcus Sasser, 5

Thunder get a player who has been a good rebounder mostly and has started to show a 3, as well as some toughness. He’s a little bit crazy, but maybe this team could use that? Thunder also move up in what’s seen as a not great draft and get a role player type.

DET out: Isaiah Stewart, Marcus Sasser, 5
DET in: Josh Giddey, 12, 2025 UTA 1st (top 10/8 prot), 2025 PHI 1st (top 6/4 prot), 2025 MIA 1st (lotto prot)

Pistons move back but get an offensive initiator who can get a little more room to feel out their game and grab some picks in the heralded 25 draft.

This sounds harsher than I mean it to, but you’ve created an awkward scenario and in an effort to make it more palatable to the reader added first round picks, so no one can say the value is way off.

I don’t think you’ve offered Detroit anything they want, but you’ve managed to ask for the slivers of hope they have heading into the draft.

The OKC acquisitions feel less like a thoughtful plan and more like a, I’m not sure what to do, so I’m going to try this.

Yea probably take out the picks ?

Find a way that this works with just giddey and Stewart with small future value to make it happen?

I would think they prefer keeping Sasser unless Joe is coming back ?

Giddey and cade sounds like a bad fit. Its a big win in value for Detroit though

Giddey falls right in line with the way Weaver was building this team. Just collect talent that doesn't fit.

Hoping we trade #5 but not for this.

Stewart would be a fantastic fit next to Chet though.

The value is fine IMO, and I don't despise the idea of trading down to get some future picks.

Giddey really doesn't fit the Pistons though.

I can see the potential fit of Stewart in OKC, and I don't mind trading him for some future draft compensation.

But I don't really want Giddey, and I'm really not interested in trading away high picks even in a allegedly poor draft

Make it simpler: something like Stewart for filler and 2 lotto-protected picks

I think Detroit would want Wiggins or Joe as part of this.

I wouldn't want any part of it.

Detroit trading away shooting is just a bad idea.

This should be correct.
