If the game is close at the end the Mavs have a huge advantage

Also if they win game 4 having nearly 10 days off would be huge for guys like Luka who aren’t 100 percent

They'd beat the Celtics in 6

I just hope Lively comes back 100%. He is much needed.

It's like he doesn't even care but suddenly turns into Phil Jackson when playoffs start. Would be better if Mavs just hire some other regular season coach and put Kidd in hybernation nap and wake him up when it's time.

I have a feeling they are going to upgrade the coaches on Kidd’s bench this off season. I’m hoping they can keep Jared Dudley though. Rumor is the Lakers want him on the staff of whoever they hire.

Those nba player turning into coaches have good sense for playoff battles… same is Ty Lue…if you tell me a great player like J Kidd who does not know how to coach a game, the joke is on you

F the Cowboys. The Arlington Renegades won the XFL title last year

Did not know that. Looks like Jerry has some competition then.

It's a truly amazing time to be a Dallas sports fan. Can't remember another time similar to this. Rangers are champions, Mavs headed the Finals, Stars maybe headed to the Stanley Cup Finals, Renegades is kind of funny but okay lol.

And our one bad team, the Cowboys, is a 12-5 playoff loss.

I'll take it every year.

What I find weird is they said NOTHING about his concussion. He clearly was concussed.

I'm glad teledoctor Rand has outdiagnosed medical professionals with CT scans and decades of experience based on 4s of Lively walking off the court on TNT. Impressive.

It did appear that way. They’re saying that it’s his neck though and there was no concussion. The doctors checked him out so if there was a concussion I doubt they would lie about it. Enough people would know that it would have been out that he was concussed, if he was.

I mean honestly the sad part is seeing scrubs like Josh Hardy and Dwight Powell being rewarded with playoff FTs for blatantly flopping.
At this point I could get FTs if Gobert was guarding me
This is supposed to be playoff basketball.

no lively is going to hurt big time for the mavs. Really big loss for game 4.

The most reliable outlet of when luka/kai when they go downhill is the lob threat. And you need the tag team of lively and gafford sharing minutes to allow them to have the energy all game long for it. And lively is better out of the pocket when luka gets blitzed than gafford is.

I'm pretty convinced by this point that these media guys are reading this forum on a daily basis. The things I read on this forum during a game thread that ends up on television the next day is too coincidental for it not to be.

Well, that adds some drama to next game.

Kyrie's 14-0 with a chance to eliminate the other team is on the line.

Minnesota's 0-6 all time record against Dallas in the playoffs is also on the line. Kevin Garnett surely doesn't want to talk about the other series but Minny still has a chance to kill that goose egg in game 4

This was one of my favorite moments of last nights game. Luka telling Hardy to go at Rudy like father telling his toddler "it's easy, you can do this one by yourself" is just hilarious.

Luka is doing all this whilst absolutely physically broken.

I don't care what anybody says, Luka is the most naturally gifted basketball player I have ever seen. It's obscene how easy he makes the game look.

As a Mavs fan this sounds like you're more concerned with what's best for your team's performance and not your player's long term welfare. That's a shame. It's well known in sports that teams routinely send players out there despite having medical concerns. The hit was clearly on his head, not the neck.

Luka's unique ability is his decision making in the air, which for most players the coach would forbid them from doing, like Edwards' game 2 end passing. Luka does not jump high but his has a brain that can process all the players on the court and calculate the best move before landing. At the same time, he has strong core to let him making those shots/passes/lobs with his eyes, shoulders, and fake passes to freeze or misdirect the defenders.

I have more confidence in the professionalism of team doctors and management to make sensible decisions. He has been ruled out for game 4 to be on the safer side. There are league protocols, doctors' diagnose, organization's reputation, agent's input, and player's decision before any accusation of team's decision.
