I really loved Bill. What a great all around human being. I pray his family and friends find solace in the tremendous impact he had on so many lives. Rest in peace, Big Red.

R.I.P

Needless to say a great player, whose teams won championships whenever he was able to play.

Oh wow. I didn't know he was sick. That's too bad. He was a great supporter of the Blazers. Won't forget the 1976-77 championship or him wearing a Blazers jacket at the 50 greatest players ceremony.

I loved watching Walton and Steve 'Snapper" Jones broadcast games together. It was so comical.

My wife and I are in our truck, named Big Red, for you know who.

RIP legend.

I was a teenager in 1977 and remember the finals that year and how he, in particular, just dominated. Then I "hated" him when he ended up in Boston. When healthy, he was dominating and smart. He was a real character. 71 is so young these days. RIP.

Condolences to his friends and family

I never got to watch him as a player, but I loved him as a broadcaster, seemed like a truly genuine and kind person.
