I’ve been contemplating and mourning the loss of Bill Walton.

He was an extraordinary basketball player (before injuries). He was an uncommonly gregarious and supportive teammate. He was perhaps the most enthusiastic commentator and personality in the whole league. He exuded passion.

But what made him so special was the joy he lived with. May we all find things that bring us joy, and attempt to cultivate that attitude like Bill did.

Ecf mvp is the most unnecessary award ever invented in professional sports.

Does the NBA allow teams to add conditions to trades that dictate where a player can be rerouted? I remember the Packers had some provisions in the Favre trade where the Jets would have had to surrender multiple first round picks if they turned around and sent him to an NFC North team. I wonder if the Bucks could have added a similar provision when they sent Jrue to Portland. Perhaps the Blazers wouldn't have been agreeable, but it would have been worth exploring.

Great question.

Great question.

Schefter also reports that the Packers took great pains to ensure Favre would not be traded to the Vikings -- or any other NFC North team -- by inserting a "poison pill" in the deal. If Favre were to be traded to any team in the Packers' division, the Jets would have to surrender three first-round picks to Green Bay. The trade also includes provisions preventing a trade to another team if that new team were to trade him to the NFC North.

I'm guessing it isn't allowed in the NBA.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

WRT to the Pacers, they got a ton of important information about their team, both positive and negative, that's going to be indispensable for Pritchard and Co going forward. That's probably going to be more important for them than actually getting to the conference finals, which is unlikely to happen again unless they act on that information. Nembhard proving to be a player is huge for them, but they need more. They have a lot of guys who are good but not good enough.

I seem to recall a player deal maybe 15 years ago where this type of clause was in-play. i.e. you can't flip player X to a third team. But it required consent from the guy being dealt and his agent. Horst went to great lengths to say they didn't want Jrue to find out he was being dealt, until the deal went down.

Who can blame Horst after what happened with Bogdanovic?

David Pasch? Bill Walton’s long time broadcast partner had a great reveal today. He shared Bill Walton would argue and bicker with him on air, and then when commercials rolled would smile his giant dentured smile and say “don’t tell anyone, but I love you.”

Just want to say, in honor of Big Bill, to all of you at Bucks Real Gm, “don’t tell anyone, but I love you.”

I wonder if he'd even get drafted. If he's a late second-round pick is he still in the league based on lack of expectations?

I picked the Wolves to win Game 3 because I thought they were dead if they lost. Now I guess I have to pick them again because if they lose again they are REALLY dead.

How did Naz Reid go undrafted and why was he considered unathletic?
