0.344 career…that’s good enough for a bench 3 and D guy, though he does more that just shoot 3s.

1) it's not good enough - imo, to call yourself "3&D" you gotta be shooting at least league average from 3 (36%)..so he's firmly below that mark

2) I wouldn't use his career number. His career number includes stats from 3-4 years ago, which is not very relevant to how he is shooting today. I'd prefer to look at recent performances for more relevance. This season so far he's at 32% (including tonight's game) and last season he was at 31%. And considering his shooting form is really ugly, looks painful - it's unlikely he will consistently be a league average shooter unless he makes some tweaks to his shot.

I like Brissett. He's done some good things for us. But I don't think it's accurate to call him a 3&D guy.

(Edit: Just realized I was responding to a post from January.)

It's really semantics. To me, calling a player a 3&D guy is an backhanded compliment. Meaning, this guy can't do it all, but he can play D and stretch the floor. You don't (intentionally) draft 3&D guys in the lottery.

E.g., I wouldn't call White a 3&D guy. He's more. He can score from all over. He creates.

Brissett's 3FG% has tailed off but just a couple years ago half his shots were 3s and he was making them at a good clip. It's still a big part of his game. He's not a guy who's going to create for himself offensively. What he offers is dunking and spotting up outside the arc.

Any predictions on if Oshae will opt in or opt out? I think it’s gotta be like a 50/50 call. He’s 25 or 26 and if he has a chance at a role with more minutes, he’s gotta take a good look.

I bet he opts out and signs with a team like Chicago or Philly or something.

Although I can respect his style and type of person he is, I hope he goes elsewhere.. I believe he can be upgraded on. J Walsh comes first to mind. Even Drew Peterson.. and that doesn't even include this years draft.

He’s so janky on offense. Like, that 3pt shot just doesn’t seem like it’s going to get tamed enough to develop. Even his FTs were often uncompetitive. Him with the ball was a turnover waiting to happen. BUT he can finish at the rim, crashed the offensive glass, and was always active on D — and hugged it out with JT once game 5 ended like they were best buddies so if he opts back in I’m fine with it in the name of continuity. If he opts out I’ll hope they replace him with a ring chasing vet, maybe J Rich or similar?

Oshae lost whatever “real” minutes he might have had to Hauser, they just need someone in that spot for when one or two Jays aren’t available in the RS.

"Janky" is kind. About the offensive rebounds, it seems he wasn't very good at converting once he got the board. Maybe if he had regular minutes he would have settled down into a rhythm. I don't see that happening with the Celtics. Like Banton, perhaps a change of team with regular role might help, although I'm not sure where that might be. Chicago, yeah, could be a nice fit.

If Osghae does stay, that's fine too. He's a good dude, well regarded. Him and Kornet are fine to have around for depth in regular season if there are roster spots available.

I feel like Brisset opts in. He really didn’t do anythjng to earn a better deal.

From a Celtics perspective, I don’t think they really care. He’s an ok player on a vet min deal. Plus we could move him later if we want to.

I don’t really care either but I need to know so I can get going on my fake GMing.

For sure. Hoping we can pull a decent vet or two for the min.
