With the impending Mavs-Cs Finals matchup, I just realized there have been several players in the Brad era alone who have played on both teams including all our former All-Star PGs lol. Probably missing a couple more:

1. Rondo
2. Kyrie
3. Porzingis
4. Grant Williams
5. Powell
6. Crowder
7. Brandon Wright
8. Larkin
9. David Lee
10. Jonathan Gibson
11. Justin Jackson
12. Courtney Lee
13. Richardson
14. IT
15. Kemba

It's a random cutoff but here's the team's W-L record when...

...taking less than 44% of their shots from 3, RS: 18-11; 46-7 otherwise
...taking less than 44% of their shots from 3, PS: 4-2; 8-0 otherwise

I complain a lot about Cs "chucking threes" but when teams have limited our 3-ball attempts, they've had more success. I guess it just boils down to the type of threes we're taking and at what spots (both spots on the floor and time/situation).

I think we're getting Banner 18 this year.

From the pre-season projections we put together here, compared to how it panned out - these guys played a lot of minutes lol.

PP/Hauser played a combined 30 mpg in that series and that was with one of the starters out. If the starters(+Al) were healthy the whole series I don’t think we’d have seen much of the bench at all here.

IMO if Sam defends like he did in game 4 he will be useful on court if needed because he is respected and defended as an elite shooter regardless of whether he is in a slump or not. It's the main reason he is so good with +/- over the long stretch. If we shorten anyone's minutes if KP is healthy I expect it to be PP over Sam. I like PP and he seems more comfortable in playoff offense, but he doesn't hold up as well defensively despite being quite good for his size.

Jayson Tatum, a snippet from a feature piece with Haute Time two years ago:

...For the first time in his career, his team made it to the NBA Finals … and lost.

“It was the worst feeling ever — an empty feeling — and I don’t want to feel that way again,” he declares...

But a year later it ended up feeling even worster, as the Celtics couldn't stand the Heat and got out of the return-trip to the Finals; A setback like a stepback 3 that rims out as time expired.

Now two years on and the basketball gods have finally smiled at Boston; As the season wore on, circumstances fell into place to open up the path of least resistance to #18. And although inadvertent attempts had been made to shoot themselves in the foot, mascot Lucky deflected those bullets with his four-leaf clovers.

To hell with any asterisks, but there's now absolutely no more excuses to fumble #18 anymore. Not even a missing Middleton (or KP) should put a dent on our overwhelming superiority against whichever hapless team staggers out of the West... Right?

Yeah tend to agree with less PP. Though I’d be interested in some data on how he’s done on Irving, maybe the mighty mite strategy would work there. Not sure I like the PP/Exum size matchup.

OT but we went under contract on a house in Wilmington, NC (out on the coast... far from Boston) and I noticed in Zillow pictures there was Celtics memorabilia so I sent an inquiry on potentially purchasing some of it to retain in the house going forward and he thought it was awesome that I was a fan.

Last weekend we got the opportunity to meet the owners in person since the husband is old and not really mobile. We were bs'ing about Game 3 and my 6 year old walks in and the guy said "so I heard you're a big Celtics fan" my son shakes his head and the guy follows with "okay then, who's your favorite player?" and without hesitation my son said "Jaylen Brown, duh". Then he gave him one of those giant foam fingers he got from a game decades ago.

Pretty cool that we got to bond about the Celtics in a somewhat unsuspecting place.

With a big Finals they could land second on that list.
