da Silva looking better and better to me. Mature, long, 2-way player with smarts & versatility...compared to Kyle Anderson is certainly eye-catching to me. A young, better-shooting Kyle Anderson? Sign me up. Given his age, he (maybe) drops right into our "2-timeline" roster, with AB & Jett...what an amazing luxury to have 2 timelines and the guys are, essentially, all the same age...so, they can step up as quickly as they are ready-but they are not critical yet.

-renounce everybody but MoWags, draft da Silva (and, if we're really lucky Schiermann or Shannon-maybe trade up w/Cole?). No reason to keep all of our pick stash...I'd LOVE to move Cole, DEN 25 + more to try to grab Castle.
-sign Claxton and Monk to front-loaded deals.

Claxton, WCJ, Mo
Paolo, Isaac, WCJ
Franz, da Silva, Schiermann or Houstan
Suggs, Jett, Kevon or Houstan?
Monk, AB, Kris Dunn (vet min?) or Castle

Exec of the Year...how high could this still young team rise?
*BTW, this is me demonstrating my confidence in AB & Jett being ready to contribute.

He used him to trade up to get a top-8 pick (Castle).

It's Da Silva or Carrington for me and honestly, if we're not going to go after a guard in FA then I'm taking 18 year old Carrington.

Dude can do it all, score the ball, rebound, defend and be a playmaker

A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

The only players who could feasibly make it to our pick that I can see cracking our rotation would be Edey or McCain (depending what we do at guard this offseason).

I highly doubt we rate being an immediate rotation player as important.

I mean, if someone can be a rotation player out of the gate I think you almost have to take them where we are picking. But I don't disagree with you.

I dunno... a young team with 2 RAW lotto sophomores in a strong draft in their lineup. One of the weakest (projected) draft in recent memory with no clear top-10 pick and we are picking 18th... And Edey or McCain can potentially be in the rotation?

That could happen probably if we get hit by a lot of injuries. Which would frankly be a bummer of a season for us.

Carrington looks interesting. He’s got that DeRozan/SGA mid range touch, but doesn’t have the shiftiness of SGA. He looks pretty slow off the dribble and can’t beat college defenders though so he might find the NBA even harder which will force him into more quick pull ups.

These are just comments off seeing those highlights though. I know nothing about the intricacies of his game. You got much insight on him?

As a VT fan I watched a ton of ACC ball. I actually think Bub has a quality handle (can use both hands) but like you said doesn’t always work with physicality. He’s 195 ish but the size is definitely a plus. He’s not a me type of player, loves getting others involved and has solid playmaking attributes.

I’d actually view him in the mold of DLo/Dinwiddie but with defensive effort. Not going to blow by you but has enough in his bag of tricks to get it done.

Man, I'm gonna have to start looking for new prospects I like with all these withdrawals:

https://www.nbadraft.net/2024-nba-draft-early-entry-candidates-93-withdrawals/

For those who don't want to sift through that list: from best to worst the guys I had as possible second rounders that withdrew are:

Hunter Sallis, Wake Forest
Mark Sears, Alabama
Alex Karaban, Uconn
Trevon Brazile, Arkansas
Jamir Watkins, Florida State
Coleman Hawkins, Illinois
Payton Sandfort, Iowa
Adama Bal, Santa Clara

Well, more talent to next year's class, I guess. It's slim pickings after pick 50 in this draft now for me, I really run out of guys I think have a chance to stick in the league. But every year there's surprises or udfa's who do well, or do something at least.

Yeah... My thoughts exactly. Even when he was going for layups. But then he was draining those 3s. If available.... I would like him to be part of our depth chart.

31 seconds to about 37 seconds, the dude in the light blue dress shirt, looks a lot like him. White short hair and glasses.
