Anthony Volpe extended his Major League-leading hitting streak to 21 games in the New York Yankees\' victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday night.
The single off Tyler Anderson in the first inning tied Volpe with Joe DiMaggio for the second-longest hitting streak in Yankees franchise history by a player who was 23 years old or younger.
Volpe is also one hit away from tying DiMaggio\'s record for the longest hitting streak by a player with such youth.
He is hitting .285/.356/.434 (124 OPS+) with six home runs and 11 stolen bases in his first 55 games.
