Not all heliocentric systems are the same. Some are designed to get the helio his with the other players basically in static positions in support of the helio. Harden in Houston comes to mind, with him at the top of the key and the other four positioned around the three-point line.

Doncic is a helio within a complete team system with the other Mavs moving, screening, and cutting. It seems more reminiscent of Magic running the show for the Lakers than a Harden-type system.

When you've got a guy like Luka who can do the things he does, I don't know why you wouldn't take advantage of that.

Ben is a lot smarter than me, though. It will be interesting to see what he has to say.
If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

Current Luka schematically is being used more similarly to 2016 and 2017 Lebron than 2018 Harden I think

His criticisms of heliocentrism have never been worth paying attention to and are a great example of the difference between psuedo-academics and actual ones

I agree and this is EXACTLY why I wanted this series to happen.

Basketball peaked in 2016 for me and anytime we get something that resembles that is a good thing.

If the Mavs win this don't think we'll have an American face of the league for a long time, if ever.

It's a Luka/Jokic (mayhaps Giannis in there too if he makes a comeback) league and when they're done Wemby will take over.

What metrics do people like to use to judge a *team's* rim protection?

First is probably # of attempts. Offenses want to shoot at the rim, if you can prevent that you're doing something right.

FGA at or near the rim compared to corner 3PA.

For example, Minnesota was good at both FGA in the Restricted Area AND Preventing the Corner 3.

For the Post-Season, they ranked 5th in FGA/G in RA and 7th in FGA/G @ Corner.

For Comparison, Boston was 2nd in both while Dallas was 6th in FGA/G in RA but 2nd to last @ Corner 3, but Dallas "only" gave up 34% on those attempts. If a team can capitalize on those open corner 3's Dallas surrenders, then they could be in trouble, but so far teams haven't been able to make them consistently against Dallas.

JB and JT outplaying Kyrie and Luka is going to be hilarious. Can’t wait for the excuses. Celtics in 5.

B b but Luka’s knee.

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

Hmmm, he would have 3 chips by the age of 25. Which has been done by virtually no one, yea, that makes sense. Tell me more

How many conference finalist 1-seeds also got the #1 overall pick.

He is modern James Worthy without Magic.

Well modern James worthy is about to outplay yall new goat since yall moved on from Jokic. And I don’t want to hear any excuses when he does. We’ll be laughing our way to a ring. If Luka is getting outplayed by James worthy, what does that make him?

Perhaps the most carried superstar in basketball history at his age. Thankfully he isn’t a superstar

No, it makes him a loser lmao. All these semantics when it’s simple, Tatum outplays Luka and wins a ring, he is simply better. It ain’t complicated. You got people saying that Kyrie and Luka are the best back court ever, so they should be able to easily outplay (notice I didn’t say win) James worthy and no left hand brown but they won’t so we’re already seeing excuses

Being a Tatum stan after he lost the conference mvp award to a man without a left hand is very funny, keep it up
