Re: 2024 NBA Draft (euro season, college season, scouting, prospects etc)
I think POR will make a trade during the draft, maybe another trade in the offseason but 3-4 trades? I don't see it.
I could see Brogdon being used to trade up in the draft, specifically HOU @ #3 makes sense, Maybe DET @ #5, depending on if they shift their direction to adding vets\winning now. MEM\CHI could be options if POR saw a player they liked there.
I still think ORL\Simons makes too much sense, but they may have Monk as option #1, so any deal would likely be after the draft\other options have been exhausted, meaning 25' pick + player (WCJ or Black, maybe whomever they pick @ #18). I think he should 100% be dealt, but if I had to guess, I think POR is not overly keen on moving him unless it is a great deal. Hope I am wrong.
I could see a minor deal involving Thybulle happening, especially if POR drafts a wing player, they need to clear up space for their wing players, but they may opt to hold him until the trade deadline next year
I don't see Ayton\Grant\Timelord being dealt at all, maybe Timelord at next years' trade deadline, provided he can stay healthy

Portland has had now three groups go through Ware the highest rated player to workout.
They do seem to be working out the PF/C types and let's see if Bona, Smith, Ware or another
PF/C types will be Blazers. It'll be interesting who they bring in for an individual workout

Feel kinda bad for the few players that worked out for the Blazers that decided to go back to school yesterday. I guess they can still make good money there...and an education is never a bad thing.

They have worked out 18 guys (3 groups of 6).
Ware is projected to be drafted first (highest) out of the guys they have worked out

So far no individual workouts but it’s interesting Ware came in for a group workout.
ESPN in their latest mock has Clingan at 7 and Cody Williams at 14. I really doubt Clingan will
be there at 7. There is mention of Houston wanting to trade down but that’s a team with a lot
of depth and I’d wonder if the cost of a trade down would be a 2025 FRP, which Portland can’t
do.

If HOU is targeting Reed I wonder if they would move 3 and filler for Simons + 7. I only do that if Sarr or Risacher is avaliable FWIW - but if they are I love that move. And HOU gets a similar offensive player to Reed while retaining a Top-10 pick.

The Washington board is still talking about trading down but I think there would be a real chance
Portland trades up if Sarr is on the board at 2.
Lets say they offer up 7, 14, 34 and 40 for 2, 26 to get Sarr and lets say Da Ron Holmes who
reported has cancelled workouts, which implies he has a promise to be picked by a team
This assumes Risacher goes #1

I would probably do that - but would not take Holmes 26. Would target Furphy, George or Dunn there.
Also think we could keep #40 in that deal and include a few future SRP instead - not sure WAS would want that many picks in this draft.
I am at the point where I now see Sarr and Risacher as a clear cut above the rest of the field. If we can trade up for one of them, do it.
Coming out of the draft w/something like the below would be a home run IMO -
2 - Alexandre Sarr FC
26 - Johnny Furphy F
40 - Melvin Ajinca F or Ulrich Comche C *** Draft + Stash ***
+ Ideally moving Simons, Grant and RWIII (Who I would keep under some circumstances but I want PT for Sarr in this scenario)

It's amusing to see Bronny is refusing all requests for workouts but to LA and Phoenix.
He's not an NBA level player but will likely force LA to draft him at 17 ahead of all kinds of
guys that could help LA next season.

I am waiting for the shot of a legit talent in the green room laughing when Bronny goes 17.

Eh. The cardiac arrest set Bronny back. Really should have came back, played a second season, and tried to build some draft equity. Decent chance it wouldn't have worked, though. So, if your dad can get you a job, might as well take it.
Think of it as our 2nd round picks potentially getting bumped up a spot.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft (euro season, college season, scouting, prospects etc)
I just heard that Portland has explored a 3 way deal with Ant going to Orlando, J-Walk and C.Anthony to WAS and Deni Advija headed to Portland. Blazers would get a first and both Seconds go out. No more details as far as what first and when.
I sort of love it. Advija is exactly the type of PF that could pair with Scoot/Sharpe/Ayton.
I don't know of it's still a possibility, just that it happened.

From Portland to Reno to Vegas to LA to SLC and on to HotLanta. Winning at life. Too Blessed to be Stressed

Why would Washington move Advija unless it’s a move to clear room for Risacher or Sarr
I’d like the move regardless of where picks are going

My question is why would WAS want Anthony/Jabari over Ant directly?
That to me seems like a more fair deal both ways.

I would go nuts if we pulled this off. I think Simons for Debi is a huge win for PDX. Getting a pick on top would be wild.
I have thought Deni may be available if WAS takes Riascher but figured they would take a pick package from a team like OKC.
I see Walker and Cole having middle to high SRP value each so no idea why WAS does this. I have Deni as being worth a pick in the 7-10 range in this draft.

kind of hard for me to see the Wizards being interested unless they are targeting a player at #2 that would take Avidja's minutes
the question is what first would Portland get? If all Orlando is giving up is the 18th pick and Cole Anthony they need to pay more for Simons. Not a lot, but something like another 1st, lottery-protected
I still like the idea, especially the idea of Portland finally, at long last, after 9 seasons, moving away from an undersized no-defense SG. But again, that doesn't seem like enough for the Wizards

maybe the Wizards would settle for #2 + #14 + #34 + #40...?
Portland trades Ant + 14 for Adidja + 18...?
Orlando is not trading enough and I don't think the trade comes close to being legal....unless it is finalized after July 1; then maybe

Based in this info - is this fair?
Orlando
Cole Anthony + #18 + '25 Den
for
Simons + #40
Magic get their scorer
Portland
Simons + Walker + #14 + #34 + #40
for
Deni + #18 + #26 + '25 Den
Portland gets their ideal forward.
Value wise: #18<#14. #26=#34+#40 Simons+Walker=Deni+Denver pick
Washington
Deni + #26
for
Anthony + Walker + #14 + #34
Wizards get a replacement PG & PF. They clear the deck for the #2 pick (Sarr or Zach) while getting additional picks for talent.
Value wise: #26=Anthony. Deni=Walker + #14 + #34
Return to Portland Trail Blazers
