From the Athletic:

The Pistons are in serious talks to hire Pelicans executive Michael Blackstone as the No. 2 decision-maker under Langdon in Detroit’s front office, league sources said.

Fine first step but the biggest stink still remains.

Seems like the podcast was right about this, hope they're wrong about the other stuff they rumored Monty likely staying and Eric Tellem getting promoted.

Props to all the negative Weaver haters who complained about things like Bagley, Hayes, Wiseman, Joe Harries, etc all the way a long... lots of people didn't jump on the Weaver hate train until our 28 game losing streak but to those of us hating on him earlier I hope you enjoy this news today.

I said same thing about Weaver that I am now saying about Monty; everybody maybe correct but I want a bigger sample size. I was OK giving him years 3 & 4 even when it looked bad.

Even now I wouldn't say I hate the guy. I'm dissapointed. I hate that we suck and are an embarrassment. But Weaver tried. Unfortunately he's just a decade behind and hasn't evolved with the times.

I agree hate is a strong word, more like doubters and non believers in his ability to "restore" this team. Gores had a ton of patience with him and I can say he at least didn't saddle us with bad overpaid contract and he also at least didn't trade away a bunch (only one) future picks.

I understand the skepticism that Monty will be cut loose.

But I’m not sure why anyone would be surprised here. Langdon would want the chance to put someone in place he has a working relationship to. This would be the case even if we’re setting aside Troy’s performance, which of course is why Langdon is being brought in to start with.

Reportedly Tayshaun Prince is in consideration to be the #2 guy in Detroit just under Langdon.

I was on-board with him until about the Wiseman/Bey trade. I always thought a full-blown tear down, tank rebuild was needed after spending an entire decade chasing the 8 seed (and failing all but twice in that meager pursuit.) But clearly Troy was not the right guy to run it in retrospect. Failure to accumulate assets with cap space was his biggest failure. Funny though, a different bounce of some ping pong balls last draft lottery and he might have been here for another decade still, with Cade and Wemby one of the premier duos in the league.

The worst GM of all time. It will take years to fix the damage he did to the franchise. We neem Tellem gone as well, just Weaver is not enough.

Lol

Detroit did offer Weaver, who still has years left on his contract, an off-site scouting role to remain with the organization in a much smaller capacity, but he declined the position, per sources.

Troy, our feelings aside, feels like a guy who just got promoted one level too high.

He’ll get another job. Just not as the primary shot caller.

The podcast was also right about this btw.

Just to reiterate they also said that Eric Tellem will get promoted and that Monty is likely staying so we'll see...
