I actually had the chance to watch him in-person back in February at a Washington/Cal game and I knew he was an NBA player the way he carried himself. He really reminds me of Josh Hart the way he can contribute with scoring, defense and rebounding. He was a decent defensive role player at Texas Tech to star who commanded double-teams at Cal.
I think now that he is training at Impact and apparently doing a private workout with Toronto, it is reasonable to see him drafted this early.
Ultimately he can play some back-up PG (he still has a learning curve there), but he can eventually play with the starters in scoring line-ups. He is just going to keep getting better and he is a great team guy whose competitive spirit and good nature will fit well.
You like him better than Tristan De Silva. I'd give the edge to Tristan because he's bigger, If Tyson had more bounce or athletic ability to pop & finish i'd be sold. If he did tho he probably wouldn't be there at 19.
I also like Da Silva better than Tyson. I like Da Silva’s shooting touch little better and probably more adapt at being a role player in the league. Bigger like you mentioned as well. I think Tyson is jack of all trades, master of none, without clear NBA skill
Always take the guy who has shot creation ability. With that skill Tyson has the potential to be a star, whereas Da Silva will 100% max out as a role player.
