Well part of the problem is he is most likely signing a four year extension now. Ignoring that, we would need to gut the team to even get the cap space to offer him a max which will cost us even more assets.

Not necessarily. The heat can trade for him without an extension then extend him next season

And that's what we should go back to. Add size, toughness, athleticism. We won't have a Luka or a Antman anytime soon.

Our path is to be a great defensive team with just enough offense. We need to get rid of guys that don't fit the agenda.

Herro should be the first to go - that's obvious.

Duncan - at least fits, and kinda improved on D, and is tall. But might need to go too.

Terry - I like his game at PG, and might be servicable on D. but might need to go.

K.Love - he's cheap. and can shoot. But might need to go.

If we keep Terry we need to get a big ball handler or more stronger two guard. Herro and Rozier is not it. Strus would have been a good fit with Rozier. Alex Caruso would be a solid fit if things dont work out with Mitch. If JJJ can improve his 3 ball i’m not opposed to letting him start at the two spot. Especially since Jovic likes to play like a big guard at the 4

Butler is really a 2 guard, and should always remain as a guard. He handles the ball and can stay healthier defending twos. The Heat have Jaquez Jr who will likely make a good bid to start. A huge improvement should be expected in Jovic and Jaquez. IMO there is no need to trade for a role player for a starting position. Only upgrade to the starting lineup should be for a star at the min. I expect Herro, Jaquez and Robinson to compete for the starting position next to Butler if no star is added.

Herro should be gone by now. I dont see what yall see in this below average choker who needs 20 shots to get 20 points, always talks about his personal agendas, bad defense, injury prone and at best is a high end role player on a premium contract. Not to mention he definitely dissapears in playoffs as if he tanking his value around trading deadline and playoffs yearly to stay in south Beach

Nah. Heat have always tried to be the tough team that play and practices hard. Heal culture was a thing before Jimmy. As long as Pat is around that what the identity of this team will be. After he leaves Spo might be able to take over and be the figurehead of the franchisee

Heat culture stuff is dead. It has gotten players more injured than anything. We need to reevaluate, change and adapt. The days of the 90s players is gone so you can't ask for more. The culture label is nothing more than an excuse to continue to get marginal talent for the low and beat you chest saying how you got an undrafted player to score 7 points per game in the nba. Where is that getting you? Fluke finals run then sweot, play in or 2nd round exit

My initial thought is extending Jimmy falls on 1st getting mitchell without giving up jovic. I like Trae young but it would have made sense had we not had terry rozier. My plan is trading herro and jasquez with 2 1st for mitchell, then extend Jimmy after mitchell extends next season if he wants to preserve his supermax deal. If we can't get mitchell then it's time to move on from Jimmy and get the most assets we can get to build around bam, jasquez and jovic. Fu***** tank in 24 to retain 2025 pick off okc(loaded draft). Also trade herro without giving any picks( this how you know herro value in the mud). Heat need to stop beed proud and think ahead for once

It’s all about having the right assets my friend. Bunch of teams with like a stock pile of picks to play around with. We got two first well teams can toss in 4 1st and beat our offer. Remember Riley saying we are an every other year drafting team. It comes at a cost of not being able put a real chips all in offer. If we trade Jimmy for picks then you can properly maneuver.

I think most of us can agree Herro needs to go even if it’s at some what of a loss. The dynamic and mojo needs to change. I wish we would have kept Strus over Herro. Strus had incredible chemistry with our group and was a bully strong two guard.

He's yet to reach his physical peak and prime, much more upside there than those other guys.

I don't see a reason to trade him, unless it's for a guy like Mitchell/Trae. It has to be a true #1 that comes back and makes the team a contender, otherwise I rather keep all the young talent.

The Nets can destroy that easily if they want to. If that’s the offer I can see the Knicks jumping in also.

It’s like we are forgetting Herro is a net negative not worth his contract and also has injury concerns. That is not a player someone wants, maybe next seasons if he’s healthy and if he has a good playoff his value changes but right now Herro doesn’t have much if any value. Then even if you magically ignore all of that, a Herro paring with Garland is not a good one defensively. So we would need another team that values Herro enough to give us assets to flip into a Mitchell trade.

It would make 0 sense for nets to trade for mitchell whwn they are so far from even winning a series

Reclamation project Andrew Wiggins with 3 first and Paul's expiring. I'm down. We can use Paul's 30 million contract with those picks as contract matching trade bait.

That’s a great trade idea. Paul can also help give Terry and Herro some vets knowledge. All things being equal we would prefer to send him out west.

Fock tyler herro. You trade Jimmy, you also need to trade herro. There is nothing you can see him doing after 5 years of playing 60 games a season, bad defense, erratic shooting and below average efficiency

Yes it's time for Herro to go. Hasn't shown much growth or development since his rookie season. I think being in South Beach is too much of a distraction for him.

If it's about adding quality to the roster, if Zach LaVine looks good medically, he's a depressed asset that could flourish in Miami. If healthy he's a much better version of what Herro has been. I'm not even a fan of his but if you want to add quality at a cheap price, how could you not want LaVine if his body's health gets ok'd by Miami's medical staff?

The big reason why this would work in Miami is because Miami's 2 stars are fine with someone else getting the shots during the regular season, there won't be this big issue of who's getting the shots.
