Official 2024 NBA Draft Thread

Cipha don’t get gassed!

Feels like chances are we’ll find away into this draft, even if it’s only late first round, or even mid second.

So here we are.

No matter where we draft, Marks will hit on this pick

Good chance for sure.

For discussion’s sake, let’s start with the 3rd overall pick in case Mikal is actually traded to Houston.

As of now we’re probably safe assuming Risacher is off the board.

Who do we want to go with?

My vote is easily Castle, but I believe he’s off the board at 2.

I think the way in is going to be DFS for a pick in the 15-25 range.

OKC at #12,
SAC at #13,
POR at #14 (2nd FRP),
MIA at #15,
PHI at #16,
LAL at #17,
ORL at #18,
CLE at #20

all could make sense as possible fits.

Yes. Picks 9 or 10 for Cam J as well.

Maybe even 5 for Cam J and the Philly pick, but that’s probably a bit ambitious haha.

That would be great value tbh.

One of Collier, Carter, Cody Williams, McCain, Salaun, Knecht or Da Silva should definitely be there.

I think we should trade Bridges for future picks instead, or if we're going to trade him back to Houston then we should get future picks and players instead of this years #3. There is no star guys in this draft as it looks and I have a feeling the guys that are picked in the teens and 20s will have a better future than the top picks. We're probably better off trade DFS or CamJ for a pick in the teens or 20s, and then trade Bridges for future picks/players.

and the trade fit is nice too bc Jordi can ideally grab 2 guys from SAC he liked and will help establish tone/system from back of bench. not saying duarte/mitchell are or aren't those guys (I have no idea) but id imagine Jordi likes at least 1 guy buried in SAC who he'd like to have here.

So yeah, thinking very late lotto to 20th is a realistic possibility to trade into, using at worst DFS or Cam and the Philly pick or a swap year pick with protections in case returned from Houston in a separate trade.

Guys I like a lot in that predicted range:

Devin Carter
Jared McCain
Cody Williams
Tristan da Silva
Tidjane Saulan
Isaiah Collier

In that order

What kids am I missing that people love or like?

Flowers?

Could always try to trade for that 3rd with the idea in mind that we'll flip it again on draft night, when it's worth the most...
Maybe to get the 3rd, and then trade back into late lotto + a player type thing.

Could be a three team deal, such as with Memphis.

I know that the finals are about to start but I can’t recall a draft where there has been less interest

Only natural for Nets fans as we don’t have a pick but very few overall seem to care

Might be because there’s no standouts but just feels odd

Yeah, I think it’s the media bombardment with the weakest draft in forever narrative.

Still think there are a number of special players who will come out of this draft.

Definitely won’t be 60 busts anyway

Seems like the hardest place to draft will be in the top 10 but there’s undoubtedly value to be had outside that range

There's talent and stars in every draft. Just got to hope your front office can spot it and the coach can develop him the right way.

I remember a few years back when the nets drafted Allen, that I'd hope they move up to 12 with the Pistons to take Mitchell. Sad it didn't happen bc there were some rumors... but then was shocked the Pistons didn't take him.

Mitchell was my favorite player in that draft, wanted Marks to move up so bad for him.

I'm pretty sure I remember you and many others posting that we really wanted to make the move up to get him...
