I'm an archetype guy. If I have a ball dominant guard, I'm gonna want a great off ball guard to pair. We have a good one in Donte and I'd worry Murray wouldn't be a huge upgrade in that regard.
Murray would be great for us as a third guard like Stackhouse was for Dallas or Microwave for Detroit but I don't know that he's willing to come off the bench. And Fred Katz on Macri's pod sort of alluded to the Knicks FO being hesitant to risk upsetting the team chemistry by bringing in a more abrasive character. He didn't mention him by name but I thought it was obvious he was referring to Murray.
As you said, I don't think he's a good fit as a starter next to Brunson. I think Mitchell's a better fit even if he's not ideal either.
