Who is more justified in their hate? Boston for Kyrie or Dallas for Porzingis?

I've gotten over my Kyrie dislike and have said so a few times recently, but if anyone wants a trip down memory lane about his Celtics tenure I think my post from 2022 explains why we weren't his biggest fans for a while.

In what way was Kyrie's series against the Bucks the "most inefficient series since the 1960s?" Just off the top of my head, Bron against the '07 Spurs in the finals was much worse.

I mean it's been years now but at the time ESPN reported that Kyrie had the most inefficient playoff series on high volume shooting of any player since Sam Jones in the 60's. There were tweets/graphics about it at the time if you want to search for them but it def stuck in my head and I try not to completely make things up.

There is no hate in Dallas towards KP. It was disappointment that it didn’t work out, most of it just injurywise. Even KP thinks the same.

Life's funny sometimes in the ways it makes you face what you thought you left behind but didn't resolve properly.

Fans of respective teams will sort this out.

I expect Irving to maybe make some mature comment if asked about it.

I expect Boston fans in the arena to let him know they feel a certain sort of way about his tenure if for nothing else than to use it as fuel to make sure home court is a painful disadvantage for the opponent.

Both fanbases will be raucous and it's going to be glorious. But it does seem like Cs fans have the edge for a case of bigger angst.

Dallas fans booing KP makes absolutely no sense. He didn't ask to leave, he just wasn't the fit they were hoping for, and like he said on JJ Redick's podcast, Carlisle stashed him in the corner to shoot 3s in the playoffs. He was part of a trade that made the Mavs better.

The Celtics fans, on the other hand, are justified in booing Kyrie. The Celtics traded a trio of players that probably wouldn't have helped them, but also included the 8th overall pick in the 2018 draft (A draft where Shai was the 11th pick). He promised them he would resign, and then signed with the Nets leaving them with nothing.

I don't know if hate is the right word for Dallas and KP. I assume that relationship is similar to the Magic and Grant Hill. Dude destroyed our cap for years played like 10 games then left and was a pure baller on another team.

Yep. Kyrie is way better player & actually available unlike KP.

KP didn't play a single minute in 2022 Playoffs when Mavs reached WCF.

I’m a Mavs fan and I don’t have hate for KP. It was unfortunate that it didn’t work out for him in Dallas. I’m happy for him that he’s doing well although I hope he continues to be out for this series or he at least sucks ass.

One thing for sure help Luka feel the atmosphere back in Euro league. Most of the time the NBA stadiums just do not have the intensity.

I'm sure most Dallas fans don't hate KP.
They are just annoyed he never managed to stay healthy for a long period of time.
That bubble injury is probably the source of it all. He was absolutely on fire back then and never managed to get back on that level.

I can only speak for myself here. But I hold no ill will towards him.
In the end he was traded not because he wasn't talented enough but because the Dallas FO just got tired of waiting for him to get healthy and consistent.
In the end he landed in a good spot and the Mavs aren't exactly screwed either. Win win in my book.

I personally never understood the hate for KP (i could be missing something) but always just figured he was injured all the time (whcih still seems true)...but what else happened that would make a fanbase hate him. Kyrie i understand, i'm not ever a Celtics fan and i can't stand the guy!
