Re: Fake Trade Thread #6
Thybulle one of the best wing defenders in basketball.
Portland is a great trade back option imo.
I love the fit of Miller/Thybulle on the wing. We can get a bench piece with that #14 pick while getting a starter at the wing who happens to play defense.
Thybulle/#14 for #6 pick

Now that thybulle seems to have a consistent 3 point shot, he should be a valuable role player. Would love to have him at charlotte

He fits great on the wing. Miller stays at SG and Thybulle plays defense and help bring that defensive mentality to the team.
This draft isn't really great, we still get a starter at SF while also getting another bench depth piece at #14.

You can get a Thybulle with a higher ceiling with Holland at 6.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #6
Thybulle has already been all defensive 2nd team twice, the only knock was that he couldn’t shoot. Now his value seems low, I’d love charlotte to get him.
Ball, mimic
Miller, Mann, nick smith jr
Thybulle, Martin, poku
Miles, grant, poku
Williams, Jalen Smith, Richards/nnaji
Add bpa from the draft, keep developing and building.
Poku is a bit of a wildcard, still only 22, he could still develop into something.
I’m not against bringing Bertans back either.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #6
I am not moving down 8 spots for Thybulle.. The guy was traded for 2 2nds a year ago and he is the same exact player..
So yeah Portland would obviously give up 2 2nds to jump 8 spots.

If we can get him for seconds do it. Philly traded him because he couldn’t consistently hit the 3, but his shot has been solid at Portland.
He’s the type of guy who would play an important role on a winning team. Like jrue and white do for Boston

Maybe they would, but my main point is traditionally you can get 2 2nds in the NBA draft for dropping down 1 spot in the top 10. SGA to Bridges, Pacers got 2 2nds dropping from 7-8 last year with Washington.
So yeah it is much more reasonable that is the cost for Portland to jump from 7 to 6 then 14 to 6. Not saying they would do it, but I think 14 to 6 would cost a lot more then you guys are proposing.

Kings need to trade down or out to save money. I feel like 9-11 is going to be good value this year, and maybe even their pick at 13 depending on who drops. Maybe something like one of the 2027 firsts (top 10 protected) for the #13 depending on who is there on draft night.

Yes. Bring In as much talent as possible with assets. We got 2027, we could move the most favored for someone who slips.

I would rather not trade into a perceived "weak draft".. honestly like those picks to package for an upgrade down the line or just simply move them for a solid rotation piece rather than end up with a Kai Jones 2.0 situation.

Agreed. We should be just taking our picks or trading slightly down for future considerations in this draft. We should not be investing further in it.

I see Clingan mocked to CHA in multiple outlets...If so, would Mark Williams be available at a reasonable price-considering his injury issues?
I'm under the impression that, despite occasionally putting up big numbers, CHA is generally disappointed with him.

I haven't been disappointed with him at all. I think he's a cornerstone piece if he gets back healthy and is super underrated league wide

Mark was at the Boston game with Miller to watch our HC.
Safe to say he is a building block until we found out if his back is healthy.

If that's the case, how do you feel about CHA drafting Clingan with (you hope) a rare high lottery pick?

The majority of the Clingan smoke feels like it's coming from teams that assume because Mark missed time we are ready to move on. Our owners have talked about Mark glowingly in recent interviews, at the trade deadline last year Mark was mentioned as a member of our core moving forward everytime it was brought up, been a lot of recent media from the team surrounding Mark.
From the outside looking in, I think they are comfortable moving forward with Mark as the main guy. I am not really a Clingan guy, but I would be surprised if he was the pick. New owners, new coach, new gm.. I don't think the intel out there knows what we will do. I think 12 different guys have been mocked to us at 6, Clingan hasn't been any more common than any of the other guys.

Our owner just stated that he, Melo, and Brandon are part of our core going forward

Makes sense to me...I'd take a (healthy) Williams over Clingan all day. I'd love to reunite him with Paolo in ORL. Just checking for a buy-low high-upside rehab project like Fultz. Fultz didn't work out and they paid him way too much to continue the experiment, but it was a really good bet, initially. Wasn't sure how Williams was regarded there....as far as the mocks, I'm sure you suffer the same ignorant, lazy national coverage that ORL "enjoys".

Re: Fake Trade Thread #6
On paper and healthy, a Ball/Miller/Williams trio should be very good and I would put that trio as one of the best young cores in the East. Problem is, we are the Hornets and can't have nice things and of course they can't be healthy. I mean Ball had a 10 game stretch this season of 30/8 before he got shut down. At some point its time to piss or get off the pot.
