Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Jun 1, 2024 3:56 am

Mike Brown and the Sacramento Kings have agreed to a contract extension through the 26-27 season worth $30 million over three years.

Brown was set to enter the final guaranteed season of his contract with the Kings.

Brown won NBA Coach of the Year in 2023, leading the Kings to the third seed in the Western Conference.

Mike Brown does not have a good track record when signing extensions or big, long contracts. It’s not his fault. Every team that fired him sucked badly after.

It's on Brown & the players as well to start delivering now. And even McNair has to add 1 or 2 more impact players to help out Fox and Domas. Keeg & Monk need to be a bit more consistent...and I'm still optimistic their young guys can take another step or two, Keeg, Keon, Colby & Mitchell. Hopefully Huerter & HB can bounce back next year, if they're not moved that is. I think 50 wins or more is a realistic, attainable goal for 24-25, if they are still hovering around mid 40s range for wins though...maybe time to swap out most of the supporting cast?

He now makes more than Kerr or Spoelstra. I think he did just fine.

Pretty sure that's not accurate. I think they're getting like nearly double annually.

True, I was looking at their current salary's. Kerr and Spoelstra have larger deals beginning next season. Still, he isn't in their class. Or I should say, I think Kerr is overrated and overpaid... but Brown isn't in Spoelstra's class for sure, and he hasn't had the post-season success of either.
