As of this moment the vote counts match my personal top 4

MJ
Kareem
Lebron
Russell

Surprising to see Bird well ahead of Magic, and even more surprising to see him ahead of Tim Duncan.

The argument demoting players in the 60’s because of less teams is demented. You had Russell, Chamberlain, West, Baylor, Robertson, Havlicek, Petit, Gola, Greer, Reed, Lucas, DeBusschere, Walker, Cunningham, plus all the players you’re just too young to know about, concentrated, not diluted across 30 teams. Playoff teams always had a couple of all-stars. And ask Kareem how tough all those centers were when he entered the league. (Roger spells it out in Airplane.) I got not problem with folks championing the players they know. But I’ve been attending games for 60 years and I promise you that as tough as the Russell-Wilt match-up was (and brother, you’ll never see one more competitive than that) the rest of those teams were hardly slouches.
