I have no idea who this guy is other than apparently he was director of player personnel on the Nets.

Discuss.

Also, looks like Michael Blackstone's Twitter/X profile lists him as Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations @DetroitPistons

I actually did a search of "JR Holden Tellum" just to see if any hits came up. Thankfully they didn't...

I also did a search on the Nets board for Holden and only really got hits where some guy mistyped 'golden'.... Hmmm.... Does that seem odd at all?

No. There’s lots of guys that work in front offices in fairly prominent positions that never get discussed by fans. This guy isn’t a GM and won’t be here either.

Only guys who get any mention from Piston fans are Tellem and Weaver.

Not if he's basically in charge of making travel arrangements, for instance, no. Titles like "director of player personnel" can be vague like that sometimes. What we do know is that he wasn't Sean Marks top assistant. That was Jeff Peterson (assistant GM), who has left for Charlotte.

It won't matter. Tellem still holds power and he will continue as long as Gores is the owner. Their friendship is bigger that hoops and has less to do with hoops.

Pistons/Langdon have talked with Memphis’s Tashaun Prince about our GM position. Yes. Former Piston great Tashaun Prince.

I’m not someone who gets all that excited about former Pistons getting positions here.

I’m not against it if they’re qualified for the job but the nostalgia factor doesn’t enter into it.

Former Piston greats being brought in as assistant coaches? Sign me up!

Former Piston greats being brought in for positions that rely heavily on business acumen and other skills that weren't needed on a basketball court? Uhh... not so much.

I mean it depends. There ARE former players who have found success in that arena.

We're banking on one of them doing so.

We are. But I wouldn't be excited about that person because they were a former player. Langdon could have just as easily come from the moon and if he had the same credentials I'd feel the same way.

And as far as Joe Dumars? The goodwill he earned by us winning a championship was all used up in the aftermath in which he destroyed the future of the franchise for years to come with bone-headed moves. It really makes me wonder how much of the 2004 team was due to circumstance and luck in terms of managing.

Love the Trajan Langdon hire!
Love the Michael Blackstone hire!
Love the JR Holden hire!
Would Love a Tashaun Prince hire as GM!

What a great front office his would be! Far superior to anything Weaver did in his four years! Weaver didnt want to be challenged and wasn’t most of the time. These guys will challenge each other to get/be better.
