Sometimes stats do not tell the whole story.
Just because Tobias stinks doesn't mean that other players don't. Barnes has like the same exact game, but with less on ball juice.
Huerter is a worse shooter than Buddy and has been a bigger target on the defensive end.
Next season I have to watch more than just 76ers games, because that is so hard to believe. I believe you but wow.
Barnes is a willing catch and shoot guy and doesn't require plays to be run for him.
Huerter is taller and longer than Hield. Therefore has more theoretical use. We saw the theoretical applied in the 2nd round in 2021. Huerter played pretty well all around in that series.
They also both play on a wonky team that wants to be DEN but is pretty poor all around defensively and seems to focus too much on beating GSW.
No one is saying these two are world beaters or anything. They're both overpaid, or they wouldn't be available. But they are solid rotation guys who have value to an NBA team.
Tobias might not. With the change of management in DET, Tobi might be down to praying for an S&T to BKN or WSH. And Hield's value is solely knocking down a ton of threes, which happened very sporadically here.
