I can understand that Celtics fans don't know much about Luka's and Kyrie's D, they're not watching Mavs much, like Mavs fans don't watch Celtics much. Baffling thing about Finals discussion is that they're just dismissing how Mavs got to the Finals, like they were playing against lottery teams. OKC was #1 seed in the West and Wolves beat champions with the best player of the league. Instead of giving credit to Mavs, they're rather dismissing their opponents. OKC and Wolves were betting favourites too. Their fan bases were as sure of winning as Celtics fans. I guess not anymore.

They are very arrogant, yes, but I understand. They are a very good team that play dominant team ball. I can see a road map for this where they win easily. The frustrating thing about this series is that Mavs could do a lot of things well on any given night, but the Celtics forces games to be about the 3 point math. And if they win that by a landslide on any given night, they could win even if they get outrebounded and outscored in the paint by a lot. With that said, even though I view the Celtics as favorites, if I were a Celtics fan, I'd like to think I would have more respect for the Mavs, and would probably give them a little more credit, yes, even while still acknowledging that my team (the Celtics in this scenario) could be superior and the favorites.

There are plenty of Celtics fans giving the Mavs credit. Some people in this thread have worked themselves into a frenzy, conversing with a select few posters and acting like all Celtics fans are evil and enjoy killing babies.

There are some, yes, but I don't see "plenty". And I agree with Bob that real basketball discussion is not really there either, although that's definitely true to this thread too. And I did not call the entire Celtics arrogant, nor implied that that they are all like that. But I feel a higher percentage of them are arrogant, yes, and I think this has to do with city/fandom culture. There is a thread on this on the GM, with a title of "why do people hate the Celtics?", and in that some American fans explain that why are New York, Celtics and Philly fans are different in their nature, and it makes sense to me, that explanation. It's not all though, yes, definitely agree with that, but I also feel it's a higher percentage than with most teams.

There are a number of users, however they are generally 1 or 2 posts over 70+ pages as opposed to 100+ posts from an arrogant vocal minority on both sides. Mavs board on the topic doesn't really seem all that different than the Celtics board other than the team they support.

The majority of the discussion on here seems to follow that of the quality of discussion in the general media, lacking insight about basketball itself and instead polarising opinion and pushing narratives and agendas.

No one is calling Gafford top 5 C. He's not even the best C of Mavs. I doubt he will play a lot in this series, because Lively and Kleber on 5 might be better options.

Kyrie might not be better than Tatum but he's far more efficient than Tatum. And he's mister Q4, where games are mostly decided. It's not that hard to understand, why he might be crucial, not the best, player in this series. I personally trust him in Q4 more than I trust Luka, who's many times gassed in Q4. Luka the best option for taking the last shot of course.

Mavs in 6 is far the most logical opinion, if you're Mavs fan, finishing series at home, although Mavs in 7 might be more realistic. Boston fans are mostly between 4 and 5, mostly blowouts, 6 is already a big outliner, 7 as likely as Zombie apocalypse. ( I barrow that from Wolves fans.)

I would bet that is due to the hate they generate in the rest of the fan bases in the league...nothing unique to the Mavs
