Re: Utah Jazz introducing new uniforms
Whatever happened to a simple home and away jersey with an alternate or occasional throwback?
Nike has destroyed team jerseys with this garbage 'every team must have 4 jerseys' concept and then making them all wear them equally throughout the season.
There used to be home and away jerseys. Now you watch the playoffs and teams are switching jerseys game to game regardless of who's home.
Also does the home team no longer wear white at home or what?

I can't wait until this minimalism design trend is over. Every team should start having fun jerseys.
wait..you think THAT is minimalism?
Not 100% minimalism for the new Jazz jerseys, but it's a step above minimalism imo. They're simple & clean.
I was thinking they were already getting into a bit too loud to be honest.

This picture looks really odd. Both Markkanen and Kessler are 7 feet and 240 and Hendricks is 6 9 210. Kessler looks even smaller than Hendricks. It seems like a bad photoshop job.

Why don’t they rebrand the team nickname instead? New Orleans Jazz made sense, but Utah is culturally the most polar opposite city as you can get.

They could only go up from the worst uni's in the league.
But they went WAY up! Late 90's mountains are some of my faves of all time.

We have teams changing jerseys every game, 6 different styles. Then you have the Pacers who wore the same unis for an entire playoff run (17 games).

mountain jerseys are beautiful, they should keep them permanently, like trail blazers have their permanent jerseys

Agreed somewhat. It should only be two primary jersey with a special red stripes dark jersey during da Bulls MJ era instead those old short shorts throwbacks.Hes_On_Fire wrote:Whatever happened to a simple home and away jersey with an alternate or occasional throwback?

I thought the Joe Johnson-era jerseys were perfect. A nice mix of classic and contemporary. They shouldn't have given up on those so soon.

Re: Utah Jazz introducing new uniforms
The main two look good. The other two seem pointless. A dull black for black's sake and a virtual repeat.
IMO teams should be limited to 3 jerseys. If they have 2 non-white main colors they can have one in each color and a white jersey (such as GS with blue, yellow and white jerseys). If their second color is white then their 3rd can be a modification of one of their main two (such as Boston with gold-trimmed green jerseys in addition to their main white and green versions). Teams should only be allowed to have black (or grey or 'slate') jerseys if those are a main color (so teams like Portland, Chicago, SA, BK).
If you absolutely need a 4th jersey than you can have some deliberately gaudy ones that are relegated to the in-season tourney only (along with the courts).

Re: Utah Jazz introducing new uniforms
An A Plus Plus Plus Double Plus just for getting rid of those horrible black and yellow monstrosities.
The fact those were ever approved is mind numbingly stupid, but at least they are getting rid of them.
EDIT: Oh no, they'll be stuck with those garbage uniforms for a few months next season.

Yeah. I am over 30 now, so some of it just my age. But I do miss the old days when it comes to uniforms.

The jerseys are fine, but they do make me think of Karl Malone, which is not great these days.

It's not Nike, it's the league. Every major sports league is trending towards having a bunch of different uniforms like soccer teams do. They get new jerseys every year. It makes more money.

Yup, even you can admit there's no good reason for it.
