I do think Dallas has the horses to compete. I know it was a blowout but they got within eight points and Irving was terrible tonight.

Could have been a much closer game had Irvin played better. I think this is going six games

Also, Hauser got his shot back. That was really nice to see. He played some defense too.

Joe Mazzulla pushed all the right buttons tonight. This team was prepared. Starting Horford to manage Porzingis more flexibly worked perfectly.

Kudos to all the Celtics defenders. You won't see better defense. Jaylen Brown on D tonight, wow. White and Holiday were filling in the gaps, giving the game what it needed.

If Tatum can just get going with the shot... because he's such a big positive out there, doing everything else.

Jaylen looked like AK47 out there at points with some of those 1 v 1 strips and contested blocks.

KP's first half is what got us out to the lead and his rim presence is more than what is quantifiable to this team.

That and the injury return, has to be a VC for him.

Also how about some credit for Joe!

The timeouts were...timely for once, and the defensive scheme for containing the pass and hand offs to Dallas role players was awesome. I counted one lob made, and maybe 1 corner 3 pointer, a large part being the fact we refused to double Luka and Kyrie whilst also completely ignoring some of their lesser role players. It was more about guarding the space than the man and it was highly effective. The corner 3 bail out wasn't there for Luka tonight and that's a huge rhythm disruptor for him.

Boston didn’t double Luka at all was ballsy by Mazzulla but it worked. Doncic only had 1 assists and took 26 shots to get 30. Incredible defense by the Celtics as a team

Celtics are gonna score. They just have too many guys.

We still haven't seen White go ham since round one.

Kyrie probably won't be as bad as he was tonight the rest of the series but this dude really needs to score 40 a night plus Luka getting his 40 if they're gonna compete.

VC to Brown and KP.

Brown was great, especially on the defensive end.

KP was beyond a huge lift off the bench. He was amazing in the 1st quarter and took over the game in the 1st half.

Jrue, White and Horford were all solid.

Tatum has to play a lot better. He let the Mavs get back in the game in the last minute of the 1st half with two lazy back to back step back 3s. He's defense was bad. He also had 6 TOs.

Very good overall team defense. The Mavs missed a lot of open 3s though. Boston has to do a better job in game 2 of defending the 3.

Glad Hauser made a few 3s in the 1st game. He needed that. Pritchard needs to see a shot go in. He finished 0-7.
