Luka's biggest weakness is the fact he likes to slow everything down. Al Horford has no business being able to guard him. However, because Luka doesn't like to just blow by guys and likes to pump fake and pass off of drives, he allows someone like Horford to stay on the floor.

Yeah, i'm not sure Mavs will continue to shoot this horrible from 3 for the rest of the series. They looked bad in previous runs as well and then when those %'s balanced out, they were a completely different team. Missing a ton of open looks and losing game 1 is basically a tradition for this team now.

you need to look deeper in WHY macs shot horrible from 3. Take any other series they played, most of their makes was from corner 3s. PJ and DJJ are HORRIBLE off the break 3 pointers. Celtics gave them those open off the break 3 pointers and took away the corner 3s. They will likely ocntinue to shoot this bad from 3 if they don't get corner 3s.

What about Kyrie, he was missing open shots, he normally makes?

Game would be different, if Kyrie was scoring normally. Less pressure on Luka and role players. Things can change quickly. Game was decided in first half, KP being fantastic and Kyrie nonexistent.

I think you are under rating Horford ability to defend the perimeter and hang with quick guards.

I didnt realize Luka was that bad of a defender.

Truthfully I didn't think he was that bad yesterday (compared to past years), plus he looked very gassed during the game.

He must have been dealing with some minor injuries, I guess.

What a dud of a game. I expected more from Dallas after a long rest and everyone was healing. I fully expect them to play a lot better next game. If not, its will be a short series and Boston will have claim the easiest Championship run ever.

We have to move on from rooting for Dallas and start discrediting their Championship instead. Its the only path forward.

Hopefully Tatum keeps playing like **** so we can say it was an 04 Pistons type run.

All the Cs key players are under contract for next season. Tatum and White likely sign extensions. Jrue is under contract for 4 more and Porzingis for two more. Pritchard also locked into a four year deal. Horford likely retires after next season but who knows. Nobody will be “available “ for at least two more seasons. Kornet and Tillman are free agents next year though. Is that who you are talking about?

Mavs want to score at the rim and take and make a ton of corner 3's. Celtics took away both things. Luka with 1 assist (and only 6 potential assists) because he was driving with the intention of passing out to the corner but the Celtic defenders weren't leaving the shooters. C's are playing Luka straight up and he can score 40 per game for all the C's care but they are taking away everyone else. Incredible gameplan by Mazzulla and execution by the C's.
