Should be the direction the league should go. By 2080, more than half the league will be international players anyway so start this now.

Shouldn't be a problem funding for the NBA. Vegas is basically the main attraction for NBA stars.
Presumably an NBA team would play in the same arena as the Golden Knights (much as a Seattle expansion team would share the Kraken arena) so they really shouldn't need any public money. They may try and ask for it anyways.
Hasn't the general idea been that an NBA team will get it's own arena?

time for me to link my old idea again (which is linked to an older idea): https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1857894&hilit=sister+cities
however, i must say that i'm less in favor of this idea now than i was in the past. because of geo-political and demographic trends, we may be heading in a more "regional" direction for the next few decades rather than the "global" direction of the past century.

not a big fan of the sister cities concept. generally speaking no one wants to be in a polygamous relationship with their sports team.
i think the one city where something like this could actually work is in Toronto. embrace the Canada's team idea and play something like 4 regular season games per year in Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa & Montreal since those cities will probably never have their own teams.
the sea duck wrote:right. that would be the idea. no existing team would share. but if a team was announced as a shared team and the alternative was no team (for instance, some smaller market US city) then it might. but again, this idea is a bit outdated with the way the world is moving.

So, no new update. Expansion is still in the works. But Silver is trying to act coy about it, as expected.

Doesn't make sense geographically to expand in Seattle and Vancouver as they are so close to each other. They would need to redo all the divisions and move two teams to the east which leads to other problems like distance and travel.

They’re gonna have to move 2 teams to the east either way minny & New Orleans are both in the wrong spot this begin with both should be in the east check the map also travel wise it’s perfect aswell
