36/28/54 shooter. Might have the worst Tankathon chart I've seen.

That makes sense, but reading different reports and breakdowns suggests those numbers aren't accurate to his shooting/finishing ability.

Might be a nice developmental project if you don't draft for instant impact

Sounds a lot like Daishen Nix

Nix jumps out of the building. That scouting report said this dude rarely dunks.

Jones is not a great athlete (and if you look at his dunks on his Tankathon page, they're tough to watch). But he's bigger and (it sounds like) much more skilled than Nix. I doubt either is an NBA rotational player, but Jones would be a fun swing in the 2nd round. Sometimes these unique guys can work out. I could see him being a SloMo type player eventually.

What is success path for such players in NBA? One example might be THT, but honestly unless such massive, but undersized guys get a respectable three point shot, I don't see them succeed in NBA. Other skills that might help them to earn minutes are: defense, passing and postup game.

I don’t like this draft class much and since the wolves don’t have a first round pick in next years draft, I say they go for it and trade up for Topic or McCain. They both will be available in the teens so it shouldn’t take too much ? And both could end up being the pg of the future.

The Lakers seems like a good trade up if they really want Bronny but don't want to draft him to high while getting some extra assets. If we could package 27 and Miller, maybe we could grab someone if they slip out of the lotto.

I dont know what we would trade to move up. Neither Miller nor Minott have sig value (second round picks that really haven’t shown anything yet). We could package Miller and/or our early second this year to move up a couple spots but not to mid-first.

And Bronny is not going in the first. To anyone. He’ll probably go late second bc of his dad; but if it wasn’t for his last name, he’d go undrafted.

So you'd probably need to move up 12 or more spots for McCain. Probably 15-20 for Topic.

What assets do we have that we could add to the 27 to come close to that?

If it wasn't for his Dad, Bronny would be prepping for his Sophomore year at Idaho State School of Dentistry.

Who knows but Saric moved the wolves from 11 to 6 before lol
I think Topic with his injury will fall some.

He probably will fall some. But if he was a high lottery pick before the injury, Someone is likely to take him in the Top 10 - even if he has to miss a whole year.

If Connelly really loves McCain or Topic, and believes Topic will recover 100 percent then he might be willing to let go of NAW maybe even Naz.

I mean would you say no to Naz for Jaquez, Filler and 15?
It would suck to lose Naw or Naz, who are proven but if the wolves are going to keep both Kat and Rudy they need to find a way to get a pg of the future somehow , Conley is 37 soon.

I don't think Topic lasts to anywhere near 15. My guess is his floor is the Spurs at 8.

No he wouldn't.

You may have a personal bias and agenda against Bronny and/or his father, but that is patently false and dismissive.

Getting vibes of a former No. 2 overall pick who has played over a decade in the league with potentially the No. 27 pick is exceptional value.

I know he had the cardiac issue before the season, but he was objectively awful last year. Terrible. He has athleticism but is small. Struggles to shoot. And has no PG skills. He would completely go undated this year if it wasn’t for his name.

That wasn't what you said though. You said his name was the only difference between playing Pac-12 basketball as a draft prospect and not being good enough for over 350 Division I programs, 300 Division II programs, etc. because he would be pursuing something like dentistry over basketball.

Yup. That’s why I said his floor is #8.

The Spurs have a great history with international players, and having the #4 pick gives them the luxury of going slowly with Topic without upsetting the fan base (or Wemby).
