Looks like Jrue took the bait on the best player thing and somewhat agreed with Kidd. Man if Kidd nuked our season with one stupid comment I’m done with this entire squad.

I think the only wrong move is to say “everyone knows JT is our best player.”

Agreeing JB is the best player isn’t a terrible answer— that’s giving him recognition and the locker room likely knows JT would be bothered less by that response than JB would take hearing everyone just say JT is better.

I think Al had the best answer and pretty much just said JB is an excellent player and left it at that. That’s the absolute best way to handle it.

The best answer would have been he is.. a lot of nights. A lot of nights it’s Jayson. Sometimes it’s D White, KP, Al or Jrue. It’s how the team was built.

Personally, I would've gone with something like, "The strength of our team is that anyone can be our best player on any given night."

With that said, I think this is all dumb and pointless. And I doubt it makes an impact on the game at any rate.

I just think it's so funny the mental gymnastics the Mavs fans are doing to try and cope with the idea that the Celtics are a scoring beast.

Yeah, I agree, only way is if Dallas scores 120 or more, like the Pacers.

It's also a normal reaction after their team got so beat bad.

The defense part is also dependent on Luka doing his part on defense.
But numerous posts here about Luka just standing around and not rotating or not playing at the very least decent defense will prevent Dallas from becoming a good defensive team.

It's like what's happening in Milwaukee with Dame.
When Dame is not staying with his man, his teammates have to help and that messes up the defensive rotation.

The Cs will shoot a lot of 3s the way the Mavs are defending.

Only the Pacers did a very good job defending the Celtics.
The Pacers took away the 3 by working hard on defense.
Although the Pacers didn't have a lot of great 1 on 1 defenders, every Pacer on the court worked hard and did their best to stay with every Celtic player they are defending.
