I'm hearing Jaylon Tyson could go top 10
From Portland to Reno to Vegas to LA to SLC and on to HotLanta. Winning at life. Too Blessed to be Stressed

Big workout group with Edey, Holland, Salaun, Dunn, Missi and George
real chance Portland will draft one of these players

Honestly, not that crazy. Productive, athletic, plus athlete. If he was a true 6’8 instead of 6’6.75 he would be getting soooo much more hype.

Portland who seems to be working out everyone, worked out Tyson on May 23.
He appears to be in that large group of juniors and seniors that teams in the 20's will snap up,
who are ready to compete for minutes right away. Best value in this draft might be in the later
half of the draft

I think this draft is going to be crazy. Guys hyped top-10 falling to the late teens, guys mocked in the late teens / early 20's going in the lotto. At least more so than normal. I think this year will have teams with the most varied draft board of any draft I have seen and I have been following the NBA pretty regularly since 2000.
Yeah, I tend to agree with you about the amount of variation we'll see. As for SA, I do think there is some truth to the idea that they want to compete sooner than later. For that reason alone I could see them going with older, more plug & play prospects.
That's the thing about "BPA" in this draft - beauty (BPA) to a significant extent is in the eye of the beholder moreso than any draft I can remember

Bombs dropping now. Kelel ware and I guess Knecht were the only ones so far I cared about.
Holland/Edey is the dream draft for me, but I’m cool with Salaun, Ware, Knecht and Clingan as well. This draft def has some future careers

Honestly, can one person tell me one thing Holland does well besides “energy”?
If you look closely at his numbers I don’t think he has an NBA skill.

Yep, out of those realistically on the table at #7 and #14, I'm wanting Holland and Edey too.Pattycakes wrote:Norm2953 wrote:https://www.blazersedge.com/2024/6/7/24173921/portland-trail-blazers-to-host-zach-edey-ron-holland-in-big-pre-draft-workout-group?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR2KjYQms55Q6FtjNCdJYm7JZrXUK4bsDb7_VCvjd6edGaSVu-Ei3sA2CoQ_aem_AcoGP0YNHXqV5zFnt_l0pYOMbWc0UwcIlWOoVOkUQrkEXRJl9GNehCjtftwsdbERYa9NzF0oVwmUTd6pi4Ql6GIb

No reason for him not to…he’s better than some of the players that are in there.

Damn. I just did a dive on Carrington…
That guy is going to make A LOT of teams feel foolish for passing him up. I’d be completely comfortable if the Blazers picked him at 14. I think in a redraft 3 years from now he will be among the 4 best players taken.
This draft is insane. This might be my favorite draft of all-time in terms of talent.

Avg 20 ppg, 6 boards and 2.5 steals per game at 18 years old, has very translatable driving ability with the ball in his hands. And he’s very effective scoring and creating. Basically a free safety on defense who clogs the passing lane for the other team, should continue to get tons of steals and plays good man to man D as well, hustles well as you mentioned.
Not worried about the three point shot right now, blazers have plenty of those, he can work on that and still earn minutes in all of the other ways mentioned for now. Turnovers won’t matter as much with plenty of guards able to work him in as well.

Still hoping Topic falls to 14 after the ACL tear.
BUT WE HAVE SCOOOOTTTT!!!!
And a complete lack of talent with no chance of winning soon. Perfect situation to buy low, rehab, and re-evaluate.

I would like to see the Blazers take a tools-y PG prospect in the 2nd round

Topic at 7 with the same logic as above?
A tougher call, IMHO, but legit. A draft day Simons trade, followed by Brogdon in February, works for me.

Thanks for chiming in…
I can counter all of those things…especially when you drop him in the NBA. But I’m not going to make this a bash Holland thread.
Suffice it to say, I don’t believe his game is going to translate up on a team that is better than 2-32.

Topic at 7 doesn't scream value pick. Given the uncertainty in mocking this draft, you know a prospect or two are going to slide. Portland is in a good position to gamble a bit.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft (euro season, college season, scouting, prospects etc)
I am really warming to Tyler Smith. I am starting to not really understand why he is clearly seen in a tier below the other forward prospects (Riascher, Matas, Holland, Cody, Salun).
He is about the same age as them all and I am buying into his 3PT shot more than any of the other guys listed. He sucks on defense but offensively as a pure shooter and slasher he looks the most natural of the group IMO. I truly was shocked at how fluid he looked offensively when I watched his higlights.
From a physical standpoint, he is pretty clearly a notch above those guys. 6'10, 7'1 WS and a 38 inch vert with great lane, shuttle and 3/4 spring measurements. If he can play SF at the next level he is close to a unicorn. Its so hard to find guys that size that can truly play SF (I am thinking a Trey Murphy type here).

Re: 2024 NBA Draft (euro season, college season, scouting, prospects etc)
Shaping up to be an interesting draft for after tomorrow's big workout, Portland will have worked out
most of the players with length with the exception of Sarr. It'll be interesting to see if any of the
players stands out for Portland
Washington would love to trade down with Portland to draft Holland and perhaps one of the guards.
I think I'd prefer to see who is there at 7 for its Clingan, he's going to be a Blazer.
