That's not obvious. Tatum is the best defensive rebounder on the Celtics, and the Celtics are one of the best defensive rebounding teams in the league.

As a fact...the Pacers obtained 27% offensive rebounds against Boston, with Turner playing on the perimeter...because we can hurt them

Radically different offense. Carlisle has had some kind of divine revelation, and now embraces speed and chaos on offense. Against a more methodical offense, however, the Celtics do a better job of staying between their man and the basket, including after the shot goes up.

And as per the article I posted, they were doing rebounding drills even during the off week. I.e., their rebounding isn't entirely by accident.

Dallas backers have moved the -7 line (Celtics obviously the favorites) down to 6.5 some 8 hours before tipoff.

Won’t be surprised to see this all the way down to 5.5 by gametime as if appears the public is on that Mavs line, perhaps too big a spread considering everyone expects the Mavs to have a bounce back performance in Game 2 after getting embarrassed in the opener?

Tatum is a really good defensive rebounder. Part of the reason the Cs are doing that.

Sure, but he'll be alone there, with KP/Horford fighting triples...in theory, bigger guys like Lively/Gafford and used to boxing would at least have to make some profit.

If the center is tripled and guards are boxing out then yes he’ll be alone in there to grab boards that’s the whole point of the strategy.

Yeah ngl the idea of taking a bite out of a pizza and having to slurp up some hanging onion doesn't appeal to me, but to each his own. Lot of people seem to love it this way.

Hey sorry I got cross with you yesterday, Chuck. Part of me wants to be a tough guy and wait for the series to end before "making up" but I hate beefing with people and I suck at holding grudges haha.

In the moment it felt like a) by responding to my posts but not quoting them it seemed like you were talking about me behind my back even though I was right there reading it like everyone else.

And b) I do understand that a handful of screenshots alone are not the greatest evidence for any argument, but I was coming at it from the opposite direction where the coverages on Tatum and the C's have been notable and interesting to me all postseason. I didn't find a few pictures and try to manufacture a fake narrative based on that.

JT getting doubled and swarmed in Game 1 was something I saw during the game, so I used the pictures to simply illustrate what I was talking about (along with a video and some stats). I didn't think it was extreme and I don't know what else I could have used as evidence of my observations.
