You're talking in the hundreds of thousands in salary. It makes little difference, especially compared to trading one or two of the bigger contracts. Long-term it's going to help a lot more in that regard if the guys a starter on a cheap contract. I like the guys projected mid 20's quite a bit more when it comes to having a realistic shot at being a core

The difference in salary between pick #30 and pick #31 is $1.3 million, and that number gets larger with each pick you move up in round 1. Plus, you might get the same guy in round 2, and I'm not sure a team in our situation should be using assets on draft picks right now.

Kevin Porter Jr played in Greece for Paok

He can stay there.

Yeah, I don't want him, but he did absolutely dominate there. Fast and away the best player over there. Even the stuff he didn't normally do, he did: 8.3 rpg, 3 spg, and even 1.8 bpg.

Too bad he's just crazy

He's not the same player, but as a draft pick would remind me of Siakam.

Mogbo is a smart player, BBIQ up there and his passing is next level. It's lack of height, shooting and age that throws him into the 2nd round. I guess he could become a small ball 5 like Draymond? Could work with a switching D..dunno

There’s something there with him, but man, half his rim attempts just look like he’s throwing the ball in the general direction of the hoop and hoping for the best lol

I don’t see that at all truthfully. I think he has a nice blend of power and finesse when he attacks. The kid looks like an insanely smart player, he shows good pace in transition, explosion attacking the rim and can really pass it well. I guess playing in San Francisco hurts your value but I love the Siakim reference because the way Mogbo can run a break is very Pascal Siakim like. But what position does he play in the pros? Is he strictly a small ball 4 or could he play on the wing too? Idk. Seems like most of his scoring is done attacking the rim…. Not sure how that translates to the wing in the NBA.

Outside of his dunks, I think his shot attempts are mostly ugly right now. I like the way he plays and he kinda looks like a natural up until the moment he actually begins to attempt a shot and then he suddenly looks very stiff and uncoordinated IMO.

For someone that passes so well he sure seems like he forces those bad shots in the post. But I think he looks like a guy that could be productive with limited usage in the nba. He certainly needs to refine his finishing tho, I see your point. Hopefully just more forcing in his role than anything to do with coordination. He looks pretty fluid everywhere else, especially out in transition.

Hard pass on Mogbo. Under-sized JUCO kid who shot 43% from the line last season and turns 23 in 4 months doesn't track to me as having much of any NBA potential. I get he tested well at the combine, but I see an average athlete on tape. Joel Bolomboy vibes (except he can't shoot). Some of those lob attempts are cringe for a guy supposedly billed as a rim-running athlete. Dude looks like he has zero coordination in the pick & roll.

going from 43% on 82 attempts to 69% on 104 attempts in just one year can also be interpreted as a positive

Devin Carter is everything this Bucks team needs. I think he can step into an Alex Caruso type role immediately. He's obviously tested himself out of the Bucks range at 23 so:

Bucks trade Portis and 23 to OKC for Kenrich Williams and 12.

This accomplishes two things:

1) Bucks get Carter who is now your starting shooting guard and primary wing defender

2) Saves the Bucks about $6m and moves them under the 2nd apron which allows them to aggregate salary for a bigger trade later in the offseason.

Suns shouldn't pass on him at 22.
Would be s good UDFA

I'd take a flyer on him if we could somehow acquire another pick in the late 40's. He reminds me of Carl Laundry who can carve out a solid career in the league by doing all of the dirty work in the paint.

Honestly the more I think about trade scenarios where we send Lopez to OKC and flip #12 for a someone like Caruso, the more I'm inclined to simply hold onto the pick and draft Carter if he's still there at #12. He's a great perimeter defender and shooter. I think his floor is Miles McBride and ceiling is somewhere between Bruce Brown and Marcus Smart.

Totally different player, but Terrence Shannon is that guy. Experienced attack off the bounce scorer. There's just the other questions with him.

I'd also add Kevin McCullar Jr and Jaylon Tyson to the list.

He reminds me of Biyombo with a higher BBIQ and better passing skills.

If we assume OKC legitimately wants Portis, I think we could potentially get this done without including #23, but yeah, I think I'd go for this. I'm starting to view Carter as a potential top 3 guy in this class and at least top 5 for me.
