I am feeling really stroing that Tatum is giving a masterclass next game.

Thinking 35, 12, 9, 3steals, 1block on better than normal %s

I had the exact same thought after the game last night. He absolutely didn’t shoot it well the first two games of the series, but his shots weren’t that bad either. I have a feeling he steps up and carries the load for Boston on Wednesday. The Mavericks obviously need that game more, Tatum knows how important it would be to go up 3-0. I think he has a master class as well, and let’s hope one or two other players do as well.

Joe Mazulla has the horses…..but his strategy and the way he has the players implementing it is next level. Most effective coaching we have seen in the Danny Ainge/Brad Stevens era so far in this series.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Agreed, I thought he was great with timeouts last night as well.

That shot by PP might've sealed the FMVP for him.

Entire locker room looks focused 100% on his words. Normally you see guys finishing convos, looking around, kinda paying attention, but he's got taken command of this team. A far cry from the guy we saw start last season. Credit to the players and assistants for realizing the goal, taking it serious, and not just talking about the goal, but also credit to Joe for leading the way.

Even Al's son nodded with understanding after Joe said what he said about the shot.

Think he'll get minutes in garbage time of the clincher? I'm certain Tito will...

Longggggggggg way to go.

I still have nightmares of Bruce Hurst going to win World Series MVP in 1986 only to see that fumbled away. :(

It's worth mentioning that Tatum has willingly taken on the job of defending the Mavs centers. I can remember a lot of superstars who didn't want to defend up a position (*Cough LeBron & AD *Cough)

Even bigger/taller PFs like Duncan, Horford, and Garnett preferred playing forward than center. Different era, of course, but still a tough task for Tatum. Guarded Bam, Mobley, Turner, and now Gafford/Lively.

I don't think it would've worked against Jokic though. Gordon would've been Tatum's primary assignment.

Celtics scoring averages after 2 games:

Brown 21.5 ppg
Holiday 19.0 ppg
Tatum 17.0 ppg
White 16.5 ppg
Porzingis 16.0 ppg
Horford 7.5 ppg

That's how you win championships. :D

Big difference for Kyrie and Luka from last series. McDaniels length never bothered Luka if anything Ludort's physicality bothered Luka at times and now he's facing some of the latter again with Holiday and Brown. The physicality plus all the hunting Celtics have done has definitely tired out the best backcourt of all time. Shocked that Kyrie is struggling this series as he doesn't have an old and shorter Conley guarding him anymore but instead an all NBA defensive backcourt.

Horford struggled against Miami, Cleveland and Indiana when he switched out very fast guards like Nemhard, Mitchell and Herro. It is interesting that Luka is not destroying that match. Al has enough speed to match Luka and has great length and savvy experience to reasonably hold his own. That has been a surprise to me.

The crazy part is five Celtic players could win MVP at this point if any of them have huge games in the next two wins. That's when you know you are loaded. Wouldn't surprise me to see Luka get some votes if they get swept lol

On the flip side, Dallas three point percentages:

Luka 38.1% 3PT Pct
Green 25.0% 3PT Pct
Jones 20.0% 3PT Pct
Washington 12.5% 3PT Pct
Irving 0.0% 3PT Pct

Don't think that will get the job done.

Not to mention General Board HOFer Lively's 2.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg and 0.5 apg

I was so wrong not to trust Joe in the playoffs. Dude obviously knows what he's doing. Brad vetting him hard should've been all the vote of confidence we needed hehe.

I’ve been impressed by Lively and also his ‘22 era Derrick White hairline but he’s not ready he’s waaay tooo young.

Don't get me wrong, I think Lively is an excellent young player but the General Board had him ranked just above Shaq, Hakeem, Kareem and Embiid.
