This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

no, I don't know that. Diversity is a requirement, they prob have enough white guys. Didn't make the cut.
Bob Myers is white, and no one is clamoring to hear Bob Myers' analysis.
The real reasons are that 1) the average viewer just wants to be entertained and couldn't care less about good basketball analysis and 2) Tim Legler isn't very charismatic or entertaining.
If that's what they think, they're wrong. People bothering to watch the pregame or halftime are interested in good basketball analysis.

Yes and no. I think to an extent yes. But I also think there is a level where casual viewers need to be "entertained." Like Hubie Brown doing a half-time show would be a disaster for casual viewers.

Casual viewers aren't watching anyway. They're either flipping the channels during halftime or are in another room doing something else.

Man I miss Hubie Brown. Stephen A, Skip and all the rest have ruined sports for analysis without being over the top. I have always liked Legler but we know that Disney/ESPN is always looking to push diversity and they do not care how long it will take for people to finally "accept" it.....
I'm so tired of the typical......

ESPN somehow manages to get a worse pregame and halftime crew every damn season. A never ending story of suck.
Legler is legit though, but he's hidden most of the time.

Inside the NBA is the gold standard for studio shows and you won't find in-depth analysis there.

You are correct but I do think this is an example of the NBA's short-sighted marketing. I'm a knicks fan as are you but it was super short-sighted of the NBA not to even attempt to market the Pacers during G7 vs the knicks.
Basically ESPN doesn't bother trying to sell the team component of a team sport nor does it try to market non-glamour teams. And that holds the sport back.

He’d be better than Myers or Wilbon for sure

In all the years I have been following the Celtics and the NBA finals since 1970, That was the absolute worst pregame, halftime and post game By ESPN. Beyond lame. Unwatchable. ESPN is just as bad covering the NBA as they are in covering the NFL.

So pathetic. Let go of a guy who actually knows the game while giving raises to idiots who just scream and know absolutely nothing.
If you know absolutely nothing then at least be entertaining like the TNT folks. Instead they've found a way to do neither lol.
