I think the Raptors would have a lot of trouble scoring on this Celtics team. Its the Celtics for me.

Raptors had the ability to go small and go big anytime they wanted. That's the advantage of true depth. Kawhi would have ate everyone's food on the Celtics roster on BOTH ends that season.

The Celtics have faced the worst collection of teams in the history of playoffs basketball to get to the finals. The mavs are also one of the weakest finals opponent in history. Raptors win in 6.

If the Celtics win it means thry dominated the season and playoffs. It's going to be hard to look back in a few yewrs and ignore that because winnjng 80 games in this era is ridiculous

And yet our purported #1 option hasn’t shown up in the playoffs since 2022, unless he gets to play against his pigeon Embiid.

I’m absolutely betting on Kawhi to go supernova and Tatum to shrink.

Brown will get 25-30 pts but Tatums 2-13 FG won’t enough.

The 2019 Raptors had
The best overall player
A harder path to the finals
A lot more struggles along the way

If your analysis is 'Kawhi is better than Tatum' I think thats a bit shallow. Every measurable out there paints this as not even freaking close - the Celtics are clearly better at outscoring opponents and winning games. Lets not forget a lot of posters were predicting this Mavericks team to beat Boston because Luka is better than Tatum.

Nick Nurse owned Kerr that series, even busting out the box and 1 on Curry. I think he would out-coach Muzzulla by quite a bit. Raptors in 6.

I do think that Raptors team matches up decently well against the current Celtics, certainly more so than the Mavs do right now. But go back to that Sixers series in 2019 and see how tough Philly's collective size made it on them in the halfcourt. The Raptors had an eFG% under 50% for the series. I think Holiday and White make things extremely tough on Lowry and VanVleet in the halfcourt and Kawhi is asked to singlehandedly carry the halfcourt offense for 4/7 games against two defenders in Brown and Tatum that match up with him physically pretty well.

Also another wrench in things is OG was out the entire playoffs due to injury and the Raps were pretty banged up themselves by the time of the Finals (Lowry with a broken finger, Kawhi's quad held together with glue & duct tape).

The Raps finals squad would be outmatched to this relatively pristine Celtics squad, also Celtics are just as crazy deep as that Raps squad, crazy killers off the bench.

Unless 2 of the Celtics starters tear their ACLs or Tatum shoots 10% which I guess is possible these days, C's in 5 or 6. Celtics are elite on both ends and have too much fire power for the Raptors.

Pretty surprised at the results. That 2019 Raptors team is probably the most complete team in the modern era. It had literally everything and could play any style necessary to win.
