A Lebron James head coach does not have a long shelf life. People talk about how prestigious that job is, and I don't think that's the case.

Plus I'm sure he's actually waiting for Billy to retire so he can take the most enticing job in the NBA, Bulls head coach.

Completely agree. And because of it, I never expected him to take the job. He might go pro at some point, but that wasn’t the job. He’s on top of the coaching world. He does not need the Lakers or LeBron. Not the 2024 version anyway.

Yes, Laker’s fans, he’s bigger than that and he knows it.

He did at the end of Game 2.

It would be hilarious if guys like JJ now say they dont want to be sloppy 2nds and not take the Laker offer. Seeing Vogel and Ham get tossed out last couple of years and a 40 yr old Lebron being the coach in uniform isn't really an attractive gig right now. No shock Hurley said no.

KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

The job is a hot seat as soon as someone takes it. Plus LeDrama has developed a reputation as a coach killer. Lebron's coaches have lasted on average a grand total 2.5 years. Not to mention the constant scrutiny and scapegoating by James himself along with Klutch media

All that and it is the same money as UConn and less than Kentucky offered. If Hoiberg was smart he never leaves Ames. In fairness Nebraska was decent this year but you get the point. Don’t leave a job where you are a god for a place where you are going to get crucified.

Does a new coach on the Lakers even matter? I bet whoever takes the job they'll basically have the same results this upcoming season as they did the past one.

That would be awesome if JJ said no, but on the other hand, how is he a top 2 HC choice for any NBA team? If he says no ... maybe Doris "this young man" Burke.

Jrue Holiday has a higher average Game Score than Jaylen so far this series. May he keep it up. If the Celtics are to win the series, and a Celtis is to be named MVP, it might as well be Jrue, as far as I am concerned.

kodo wrote:Agreed and the team has reverted back to the earlier rotation because Lively & Kleber can play, and look worse for it. During the Minny series where DAL looked so good, it was primarily Gafford as the roll man and he's both an amazing lob finisher & shotblocker. They're now back to a 3 man C rotation so Lively can play and also squeezed for minutes by Kleber. Neither Lively or Kleber try to go for lobs on the p&r, Lively tries to always pass out (and DAL shooters aren't hitting) and Kleber pops and tries to shoot 3s when healthy but in the POs he doesn't do anything. He said in the Minny series he still can't shoot from his shoulder separation. Gafford is scoring at 72% TS, Lively 40% and Kleber 20%.

Lot of Mavs fans complaining about it in on socials. But I don't think people are really paying attention to the C situation because the main topic is Kyrie's performance.

It's so weird and frustrating because Lively is a good lob threat too. I had no idea Maxi is still suffering from that shoulder to the point he cant shoot. I'm just really confused on what Kidd's gameplan is, I'd force Tatum to score and see if he can get out of that slump and guard everyone else. Emphasize the PnR with hard rolls. Off-ball action. SOMETHING. The only thing they've been doing thats worked is Gafford posting up smaller guards and PJ bringing the ball up and sorta initiating. They didnt stick with the former and bailed early and often with the latter. Something's gotta give.

I think Jrue is currently deserving on FMVP, and I think it would be funny if he won it after being traded by the Bucks

So 2/2 for me on reasons to vote Jrue as Finals MVP

I can't stand this celtics team. Tatum and Brown are just blah. Tatum goes for 34 points in 38 shots (yikes) in the first two games and it doesn't even matter because Boston's depth and role players are on a different planet than Dallas'. Brown is a fine player but he's not a superstar and benefits from playing in such a talented team.

They are going to win it all though, if Dallas had HCA maybe I could see it, but Dallas' role players aren't going to be bringing it in Boston, we've seen that already.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

The exception to the general rule that the team with the best player wins the FInals. Luka is far and away the best player on the court, but just not enough help. Which won't stop his detractors from writing stuff like "Luka isn't a winner, you can't win a title with a guy like that." But sure you can. Swap Luka for any Celtic and that new Celtics team would be even better than the current one.

Heck, make it two Celtics. Make it Brown and Tatum. Horford/KP/Luka/White/Jrue ... you can win a title with that squad.

Boston's front office did a great job these last 10 years; including Danny Ainge.

Well this will keep things interesting. Kyrie still needs to play a lot better, Porzingis in or out.
Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis suffered a torn medial retinaculum allowing dislocation of the posterior tibialis tendon.

Honestly, the Bucks GM should fire himself.

When you figure how injury prone KP is, them getting Jrue was such a franchise Saviour.

Boston with KP would still been good but not resounding title favorites. But with Jrue, they created this monster.
