some of these look like possible foreign stashes should we keep one or both of the lower picks.

Mogbo is neat, but I worry he’s essentially the next coming of Alize Johnson?

I can see the comparison,... but Mogbo is a Waaaaaaaayyyyyy better athlete. Mogbo is an NBA + level athlete,.. He's not 'elite' vertically,... but 31.5 standing vert is sorta top 10%-15%?... he's definitely above 'average' in the verticals. 3.02 3/4 court run is point guard fast. He also has legit 4 length,.. 9'0.5" standing reach. Longer than Pascal. He's basically got 'athletic SF' quickness, body control, speed,... with PF length. Maybe more like a lite, slightly less quick version of Ryan Dunn?

What I don't know is how much is actually translatable to the NBA? He is a 220 pounder,.. but also an older prospect, who only played at San Francisco. Good basketball school, but not a top tier program playing Big 10 type opponents regularly? Don't know enough about their coaching or system? He'll be almost 23 when he's drafted. If it takes a couple of years for him to learn the NBA,... then he's what 25 going on 26 before he starts to show anything?....

lane shuttle 3/4 standing vert max vert
Jonathan Mogbo PF 11.14 3.07 3.02 31.5 37.5

He doesn't have a 3 point shot. His FT% is only 69%. It looks good, nothing wrong with it. Release is reasonably fast, but he is going to have to spend some real practice time on the reps to develop it. How long that could take?.... Coach would know,. but I have no idea. Definitely not someone who teams should look at in the first round. But depending on where he falls in the 2nd & how capable your development staff is?.... :dontknow: :beer:

Emmanuel Miller is the older brother of Leonard Miller we brought in last year. Went to Minn in the 2nd round last year. Really like Leonard as a prospect, but Emmanuel doesn't seem to have the same level of talent?

Chomche is from Cameroon so Siakam might have an opinion.

I can see Shead as an emergency 1.

Yeah,...Was thinking that Pascal could help mentor the youngster? Youngest player in the draft this year. Definitely a development type of player,... but with good guidance and coaching,... who knows? He again is a real, probably not 'elite', but dam close to it athlete, that you could stash for a year or two? or put on the deep bench behind Myles & let him get reps in practice against NBA guys?

Shead would have to be a PG,... He is PG small. on top of his size, his shot selection and well,.. shot/execution are questionable,... .455 on 2's. I would agree with the article that his defensive skills are exceptional,... but he comes from the same defensive system as Walker. He's a guard, so at least the on ball stuff should translate, but he should also have a learning curve going from 'hedge' to an NBA defense.

We might have to look elsewhere?... In the last 48 hours Tankathon has jumped Mogbo from 49 to 34. Other mocks are putting in their comments that they are likely to rise him as well. He seems to be doing really well on the predraft workouts?

Like McCullar. He was mocked mid first round at the beginning of the year, then started dropping back around the deadline in Feb? Supposed to be a good, very good defender. His big question has always been his shot. was .333 from 3 this year, which was his best year. But he is also an 80% FT shooter.

He's pretty much an average sized 3. He could be a good addition as a 2nd,... but not sure he would play for us?... or if he did play, who we would sit?.....

True. He's about the same size as D.McBuckets or KBrown. He's really 3 sized, shorter than Ob1 or Stix. But,.. you make a good point (when you mention Doug), that he could be a good deep bench sub to grow into a replacement rotation guy a year or two from now, if his shot pans out? Which is really what you hope for in the 2nd? He is older, over 23 at the draft, but who cares if you are looking for bench rotation?...

If you game me the choice today,... I would probably take the chance on McCullar instead of resigning Doug?

What did you like about him?... =}

The podcast says he is a good defender and he has more offense than Dunn.

It's been reported from a couple of reliable sources (Shams),... and some more dubious (Reddit),.. that DJ Burns due to training for the draft workouts and having a dietician/trainer for the first time,.. has lost 45 pounds since the final four. He's now down around ~ 235 - 240 #?.... the interviews suggested that he has retained the skills & timing that made him look like an NBA possibility, but drastically improved his explosiveness and his quickness. Should be interesting to see the post workout interview? =}

I rarely have watched IU basketball since Crean’s teams. My brother is a die hard IU fan and doesn’t miss a game. He didn’t like X because he was always injured and didn’t impress when healthy.

Some interesting approaches to the upcoming draft.

76ers worked out the least prospects at only 2
Pelicans worked out only 6 prospects
Bulls and Knicks worked out 8 prospects each
In comparison the Pacers worked out 25
Warriors worked out the most prospects at 44

Trailblazers and Timberwolves worked out 22 ranked prospects while the Jazz did 18 ranked prospects

Trailblazers worked out 5 lottery picks while the Jazz worked out 4 lottery picks. That shows to me that the teams know their plans and targets in the top 14.

Of course this doesn’t take into account all teams seeing prospects at the NBA combine in Chicago. I imagine some teams may be sneaky and not make public knowledge of who they talked to and targeted at the NBA combine.
Also based on teams available draft picks they have reason to only workout certain ranges of prospects and/or positions accounting for their visits.
