the problem is we really aren't in a position to lose him...since we can't really replace him easily.

Mitch as much as I like what he does just can't be trusted for the full time gig with his injury history. Sims is a bum. I don't know an easy route to just replace him...I guess we can maybe try to find someone with MLE $ but someone as productive that fits our scheme as well?

Its more like a situation we won't like the $$$ he gets but do we really not have a choice to pay him to try and keep him?

in my opinion we're probably not making a star trade this summer so they can use bojan's money to trade for a center.

maybe trade for capela who's also expiring after this year

We don’t need Bruce Brown. He doesn’t fill a need.

What we need:

Shot creator + scorer off the bench

Stretch 4/5 off bench

Classic back PG who can run an offense

Legit bonafide #2 star player

A big guard who can play multiple positions and create for themselves.

Some of these needs can be combined into 1 player.

When you factor in a guy under 40M/ year , not too old or injury prone the names that check the most boxes are:

1. Dejounte Murray
2. Lauri Markkanen
3. Donovan Mitchell
4. Mikal Bridges

Its funny that we are in this spot where we need IQ. I wonder if there was a world where we could have sent the raptors 3 firsts (the 2 this year and 1 more) and not sent out IQ.

It's entertaining that Mitch is in a modified Goatse photo, in plain sight, every time I post.

most likely not. the fact that you still would’ve had to pay iq and then ihart and og too just compounds the cap situation. we weren’t looking to pay iq starters money as a bench player

Thats very true. IQ is looking for a big pay day and that would really cap us out. Since we are going to be capped out regardless, we should cap out with a higher caliber player than IQ.

The names are good choices of course. I hope we’re somehow magically landing Bridges and one of Lauri, Mitchell, Towns, DeRozan, Ingram. In some of those cases I’d live with OG at the four. He can roam from there.

The Raptors did not want 3 low firsts. They wanted promising young players. We were not the only suitors for OG and there is bad blood among Knicks and Raptors. I am almost sure we would lose the bidding war if we did not make IQ available.

I will be very surprised if the Sixers land IHart. I am not sure if everybody realized that but the Sixers are letting everybody go except Embiid and Maxey to open cap space. They will have 65M in cap space (plus 7M Room MLE) to build a whole new team. Why would they invest 20M on a backup Center that can have issues playing with Embiid when you need a lot of good rotation guys?

Yeah I don't see the Sixers being serious about Hartenstein. They are swinging for bigger fences to pair with and attempt to keep Embiid from wanting out. If the Clips aren't willing to go supermax on PG13 (and there is a possibility they won't) then without question he'd be their no.1 target and they'll give him whatever he wants. It's more likely the Sixers look at OG than IHart.

you think location is a barrier for multi-millionaires?

When that multi-millionaire is looking for a late night fix, it is.

He can have his choice of any ethnicity in women or cuisine in food at any time of the day or night in NYC. Those choices are a bit more limited in the bayou.

Do you think this overweight child from a small town is some sort of gourmand wanting shaved truffles and frioe gras at 2 am? you think his weight is out of control because he's cant stop eating acorn fed imberico pork? what do you think
