Im biased and but he won the Karl Malone award for the best power forward in college basketball. Built like Blake Griffin body type. Unbelieveable work ethic and his one year transformation from last year to this year was amazing. He led SDSU to the sweet 16 and was basically a one man wrecking crew without a point guard. Hes got solid handles and would work well with Harden in the pick n roll. Can play small ball 5 in limited stretches.

Yikes, the “Karl Malone Awards” I bestow on people are usually for other things… wild that he still has an award in his name

Ledee is slow, As in--amnong the last, if not last, in all the speed and quickness drills at the combine. Even for a big man, he has trouble in those areas. He's got good footwork, but I don;'t know if it will be enough to compensate for his lack of speed and quicks.

I think Tristen Newton will be gone, but he’d be a fantastic pick. He’s a lead guard with great size (6’3.5” in socks, 6’6.75” wingspan). He was among the quickest players at the combine and did great in the three point drills. There are concerns about his outside shot—okay, he shot 32% behind the stripe last year. He shot 35% in the two years before that. His college career FT% is over 83% (85% in the last four years). Good defender, great court vision. He comes from one of the best, if not the best programs in the country; all he does is win. I don't care if he's 23. I'd take him in a second.

6-7 and 6-8 are the magic numbers, and while it works OK, starting 6-5 Mann gives away the height advantage of the KL/PG tandem.

As you can see, there are only 2 guys in the #46 range the Clippers hope might be available. Everybody wants the same thing.

Frank said they were a wing short after the Harden trade. Not surprised they’re looking heavily there. Thing is they could draft Bronny and he won’t sniff the floor either.

So many of the guys they’re looking at are not even on the draft boards. They’re auditioning for the SD Clippers and 2-way contracts.

I can’t find the tweet/article but Law Murray said they’re looking for a pg with the 46th pick.

6’3 SG (Oakland)

Read on Twitter

6’5 PG/SG AJ Johnson

Read on Twitter

Also worked out

6’2 PG Quinn Ellis (Trento)

6’3 G Sam Griffin (Wyoming)

****eta****

So far AJ Johnson is the highest potential they have worked out. 34 is the highest I’ve seen so far. Only 4 names are even projected to be drafted.

I get why they’d take a look at Johnson but 19 years old? It would be at least 7-8 years before they let him touch the floor.

Maybe we were actually trying to scout his uncle?
