Realistically, the USMNT is no more a threat to win Copa than the WC.

Embarrassing loss tbh, even in what is “just a friendly”

I didn't even watch the match. At this point, is there a reason to?

A couple stats of the USMNT under Berhalter:
- 6 wins in 18 games vs. FIFA's top 20 world ranking (4 against Mexico, Iran in 2022 WC and Morocco in 2022 friendly)
- 8-match winless streak vs. European and South American countries

To lose 5-1, at home, to Columbia...

If Copa America ends with Berhalter getting fired, I will consider it a successful tournament.

i'm not familiar with national team coaching cycles, with the world cup in two years when is the latest it would be appropriate to make a coaching change?

is gregg even on the hot seat? just got rehired a year ago. if they make it out of their group in copa, i'm guessing he's probably safe

the "plan" has been for him to lead us thru this tournament and then to the world cup, but a disastrous showing at the Copa could certainly change that.

He'd probably have to not get out of the Copa group to get fired, and even then...

US Soccer has no ambition.
It's time for 5 refs.

brazil seems very casual out there. like they just know they can quickly take advantage of any usa mistake (which they can), but it seems odd to just rely on that

we're playing a lot cleaner and recovering from mistakes a lot better than against colombia

draw, usa played pretty well. great bounce back from the colombia match

first draw against brazil, so that's pretty big

Hiring Klinssman again is in line of what the federation would do.

Steve Cherundolo would be a good former player coach.

Jurgen Klopp is a pipe dream. But David Wagner is intriguing.

I don't think they will do a "smalltime" hire. They want somebody big. America is hosting 2026 and they really can't afford to get embarrassed again.
