Stop whining about the refs.
Tonight we had to win even with 3 Tony Brothers on the court.
This game was a shame for the entire organization and it's funny to see that Kyrie was the best player tonight.
Mazzulla (who is far from being a great coach) find a role for Hauser, Pritchard and Tillman.
We have a coach who didn't know how to play his role player and didn't have a setted rotation after 3 PO rounds.
He died with Kleber, Green and THJ. That's it.
Shame on us for not fire Kidd when it was possible.
Now we are stucked and done with him. Great.
Cuban's stupidity is still in the air. Unfortunately for the Mavs.

Bad loss. Don't understand the timeout at 5:25 in the 4th quarter. Mavs on a 20:2 run to get the score to 93:90 and Kidd wanted to talk about it. Luka was visibly upset about the momentum killing timeout.
I thought Exum did well early in the game as the 3rd ball handler with a big dunk but somehow he got 2:35 playtime and somehow THJ played 19:26 min with 0 point on 0/5.
Luka is on track to a helluva career, but a shortcut to ATG presents: make the ONLY come back out of 157 series down 0:3.

If this was in-shape healthy luka sure could take a swing at the impossible comeback. But he's burnt, out of gas and it's on him. We've been wanting him to be in shape and to stop complaining to refs for years. I only got to go to 1 playoff game in person but the last regular season game I went to versus the rockets.....all he did was chase the refs every timeout. And this was a game him and kyrie scored like 40+ points and we WON a crazy OT game
Me and my buddies would watch him run down a ref in the 3rd quarter complaining about something that happened in the 1st. I didn't like how the refs called this game b/c he got hacked on several of his missed shots. But he can't let it affect his game or his defense.

The thing with Luka is he's used to getting superstar calls in Spain. That isn't the case in the US where the referees share nothing in common with you. A foreign kid yapping at you for 48 mins also doesn't help.

Its going to be hard not to see all summer Luka dribbling ,dribbling and more dribbling while Boston stands in front of all the "non moving" Mav players and hear the narrative of what great defense Boston played on the "non moving" Mavs offense.

It's the chicken vs the egg when it comes to Luka's game. We all know we need another star to come in. But with that type of game, the pool to find a star willing to become a 3&D role player for a foreign kid is just so little. You have to overpay for a reduced role and find a star willing to become a role player in Dallas for that. That's a tough find which is why like 5 years on, Luka's team is still being built despite numerous lineup turnovers.

But in terms of progress, Dallas has got thr center position locked down. 48 mins split between Lively and Gafford is good.
PJ Washington can also carve a soild role for him at PF.
The lacking part is the wing position. Because Luka and Kyrie cant defend. That new wing player has to be able to switch on to all type of guards on defense to cover for their slack, and still score on his own on the other end. So basically we're looking for a 2 way superstar at SF. LOL

that's why I want luka to no longer be the point guard of this team. I want him playing off-ball post-ups and then alternatively some perimeter action through screens.
When luka is in shape his most dominant bag is from inside the 3pt line bodying someone to either shoot, lob or open 3.
The mavs needed to play Hardy in this series and post-up luka. Kidd didn't attack the paint. Even Tatum admitted that's how to beat the celtics defense is post-up...that or use pace to not let them set up.
We played right into their strengths.

Luka can't be what he's not. We're past that point of trying to change his game. If he's Slovenian Russel Westbrook trying to rack up regular season triple doubles, then he is who he is. What we can control is what type of pieces to put around him. Simply put, if you have Luka and Kyrie who dont play defense, you need an all star at SF to cover their slack. Im talking about 1st team All NBA defense. That's 2 backcourt spots who arent active on the defensive end. They put up 30, the other side puts up 30 as well.

Maybe send THJ out to Orlando for Jonathan Isaac. And Josh Green for Herb Jones. That should bolster our defense. But the other teams get hosed.

To be honest, I'd be curious if you could send Kyrie to LAC for Paul George and Terrence Mann. Since they're losing PG to Philly anyway. Might as well do a S&T.

I get that's what this team needs if we let luka/kyrie be who they are ...but is that even possible to get with the new CBA? How do we get a SF of that caliber?
Another thing to note is that almost all nba teams these days are flawed now..it was just Boston who was complete. The superteam is dying out and going to be harder and harder to get with the new CBA. Is our best hope of a championship to just let Boston time out? The other worry is if OKC grabs someone good b/c they kind of play like a less complete boston.

Moves are limited with the new CBA. Dallas is limited to moving THJ, Kleber and/or Green. Maybe add Hardy if there's a piece out there you really want to get. But that's it. We all know for a fact that Nico wanted Mattise Thybulle that he signed him to a big offer sheet. Thybulle can defend guards and wings really well and that was for this scenario when Luka and Kyrie cant defend. So we know he's lacking one guard defender. He'll probably go look for another one this summer.

True. I trust Nico will find us another scorer/wing defender and move us off THJ. I still know we won't win if Luka doesn't care more about his body. This is how June will look again if he doesn't

THJ, Kleber and Green have to go...they suck for the money they're making
Kidd ,Nico and everybody in the Mavs organization need to stop cuddling Luka...they need to find a way to make him stop complaining and whinning to the refs, fine him if you have to...yes he gets hit a lot ,but they don't call a lot of stuff because he has a reputation of being a cry baby...everybody is starting to make fun of him..he says he doesn't care, but I doubt that....nobody wants to be known for crying...he needs to grow up...get him a sport psychologist if you have to
Luka has all the talent in the world, but it seems like he's content with where he is...he loves the game, loves to complete, but there's more to the Life of an athlete...you need to take care of your body/conditioning/eating habbits...I hope this finals loss lights a fire in him and he finaly starts to be more profesional, take better care of his condition, complains less... he's not a kid anymore, it's time to grow up or he's risking beconing the New James Harden, a great Player but not a Winner, teamplayer, Just a Guy with great stats

On the most normal occasions, superstars don't get booted out like that with the season on the line in a finals game. Most times refs would not blow the whistle. Refs were probably just tired of Luka whining so they called that 6th foul.
Foul baiting and asking refs to blow the whistle for every possession doesnt work. Dont ask for a foul for every possession especially if you're a foreign kid.

If you take a dive into his thinking, the reason he complains is because he's used to getting those calls in Europe. No person would complain as much if that type of priviledge wasn't extended to him or available at any point in his life. The reason he's complaining because he was used to that before and now that's taken away. If there's no precedent, then there's no basis for complaints.

Jason Kidd in his post game interview says Luka has a bulllseye on his chest and that he should be able to defend.
Celtics gameplan was to hunt Luka and make him work on defense. So far it worked for 3 games now. If you're Slovenian Russell Westbrook in the regular season, you can't expect the same level of looks and lobs to be given to you in the NBA finals. It would take Luka to take his game to another level to beat Boston. Unfortunately that's getting out of reach now being down 0-3.
