And given his deepening debts, this is even more of a liability than ever. There is a reason why having serious debt can prevent you from obtaining a security clearance. (To say nothing of a felony conviction). Trump is a walking Constitutional crisis. And given how reckless he is with dangerously sensitive information, I'd expect the real Deep State is having dark and serious conversations about what a 2nd Trump presidency would mean. How much information can you feed him, and how much of that can be fictional. I have no doubt he would try to purge all levels of the Intelligence community and auction off the positions to the highest bidders. Russia, essentially.

It would be ironic of course if an emoluments case ever made it to the Supreme Court for Scalia and Thomas to argue.

Dark sense it might not get that far though. Unless he has the Secret Service taste test every Big Mac he ever orders, I dunno.

he had already auctioned off cabinet seats, it's not speculation. a charter school philanthropist for sec ed, a banker for sec treasury, a wall street tycoon who was fined by the SEC for overcharging fees before taking office as sec commerce, president of Eli Lilly for HHS, the list goes on and on. tapped major donors and RNC staffers with zero diplomatic experience to numerous ambassadorships (Spain, Australia, Canada, Croatia, etc.). Scalia's son was tapped to be sec of labor.

it's just this time around, the powers that be (Fed Soc and Project 2025) have time to organize and prepare.

Yes, he just hasn't yet tried it on the people who play with knives and poison for a living. But no doubt some privatized military intel outfit has already approached him and bid for the job. Erik Prince and all. I expect he wants to replicate Putin's personal private army. Loyal to him and not the Constitution.

Hunter Biden found guilty in the trumped up political witchhunt trials the Republicans whipped up, congrats to them I guess.

He was guilty. The scandal is the fact they threw away the plea deal due to political nonsense from Republicans.

Kind of undercuts the whole “Biden is orchestrating all the prosecutions” argument, not that any Trump lovers will reflect on that. Exception that proves the rule, drain the swamp, stop the steal, blah blah blah

Hahaha do you believe that will stop Republicans? Biden is apparently a senile mastermind sending out political hit jobs and his son?…..

What if he and Trump served time in the same federal prison? “45” and “The Hunter” can form a lightweight gang operating in protective custody.

100% Republican witch hunt. Normally cases like this are not brought - if his last name wasn't Biden, this trial never would have happened. Have they no shame? Trump was already impeached for blackmailing Ukraine into digging up dirt on Hunter. I hope they're proud of themselves.

I agree he was guilty. I also agree that it was unusual for a case of this nature to have been brought.
I wonder what his sentence will be. IIRC, the judge is a tRump appointee.

Whatever sentence Hunter gets, Trump's should be ten times as long. Leading an illegal conspiracy to subvert our elections is much more serious than a gun charge that is traditionally never pursued.

Johnson is supposedly religiously devout and wouldn't have appreciated the profanity.
But I suspect he would have been afraid of doing/saying anything about it.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/06/16/maryland-mass-pardon-marijuana-conviction/

"Reducing the state’s mass incarceration disparity has been a chief goal of Moore, Brown and Maryland Public Defender Natasha Dartigue, who are all the first Black people to hold their offices in the state. Brown and Dartigue have launched a prosecutor-defender partnership to study the “the entire continuum of the criminal system,” from stops with law enforcement to reentry, trying to detect all junctures where discretion or bias could influence how justice is applied, and ultimately reform it."

Heck yeah. Maryland, this is the difference between having a "moderate" Republican governor and a Democrat one
