The Mavs: We have our best players relatively healthy, so for once the Celtics will have to face a team with all its best players
Adam Silver and the refs: there are other ways to get stars out of games ya know.

2 offensive stars that aren't consistent offensively. About to commit long term to a 34 year old pg. KP already signed and can never stay healthy in the playoffs. Big Al is 38. Tatum about to replace Brown as the highest paid player ever. Sleepy Joe as a coach. They would need to retool to keep this going for too much longer. They should've been winning the past 5 years
Given the age of Jrue and Horford, the fact that they will lose Derrick White next summer (or trade him this season so they can get something of a return), ... makes me think we shouldn't be scared that they are untouchable for many many seasons

The Celtics are not the Warriors. There's no reason to think they can't be beat. We won't be the team to beat them, obviously, but some team can. They've had the lamest trip to a championship I can remember.

Yea I’m not saying they’re dynastic, but I have a hard time seeing us building a team this offseason that can take them out next postseason. Signing Paul George sure as hell ain’t it.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards
George/Watford/Barlow
Embiid/Bona/Drummond/Broome

people seem to not realize how hard it is to repeat..it takes a lot out of you. Denver's role players and Murray even ran out of juice at times this year. KP,Horford and Jrue are getting up there

Can't wait for Tatum to win Finals MVP and it being the last straw that causes Jaylen Brown to demand a trade lol.

It's not that they're unbeatable. It's that they've been spanking our asses for years even without such a great supporting cast.

Yeah, we're never going to beat them in a playoff series. But they could lose to someone else.

Haha. I completely expect Tatum to have a big scoring game 4 and win the MVP, when anyone who pays attention sees it is Brown making the big iso baskets and White and Holiday making the clutch plays. That whole house of cards will implode at some point next season, but at least Silver got them a ring.

I know I'm doing us all a disservice by even spreading this nonsense, but lol
My only question is he genuinely low IQ or is it all modern engagement farming? I'm leaning toward the former because writers like him have been like this before smartphones and social media.

I will be genuinely interested to see if the “disease of more” finally gets the Celtics after winning a title.

Not keeping Jrue is definitely the reason we haven't won the championship. Look how many championships he won for the Pelicans.

Someone should remind MH that Brown and Tatum were top 3 picks.

Well to be fair. Holiday did win a title with/for the Bucks and now the Celtics. And the 76ers had the opportunity to draft Tatum and Brown. And even after passing on Brown collars allegedly killed a trade for Brown, so their is that.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

I don't read his dreck any more, but it's clear that Marcus hasn't yet progressed beyond idiot status.

What does that have to do with The Process?

Yea, he's a nice 3rd or 4th guy on a team.
I think what's always missing from the Jrue Holiday Sixers timeline narrative is that the Sixers did him a favor by not having him stick around while Hinkie sunk the entire team into depths the league hasn't seen before. Hinkie knew Jrue was in a win now situation, just resigned to a sizable contract (at the time). Didn't make sense to have him suffer while we sucked for the next 3+ years.

It was also crucial to get rid off all talent to set us up for the lottery odds which landed us Joel in 2014. I know some posters here don't believe that Jrue would've hurt our 2014 spot however lol.
The dumbest part of MH's tweet is the "passed on Giannis, Porzingis, etc."
What say we go down all NBA draft results in history and assemble the superteams that "could've been" if every draft went exactly in order of eventual talent. Best part is Hinkie (basically) wasn't allowed to draft Kristaps in 2015, which you'd think a media member of a major sports town would know, unless he's just arguing in bad faith and ignoring facts.

Marcus Hayes, 2015Once Collins quit - that Christmas, it turns out, though he hung around until the season's end - it made no sense to retain young All-Star guard Jrue Holiday. Hinkie took over and traded him for two first-round picks, one of which was Nerlens Noel, and also drafted Carter-Williams; a wonderful haul.
