He has a big lead, but if Tatum puts up 30/10/10 in the next game, and Brown ‘only’ scores 20 or less with bad efficiency then Tatum would probably take it. But that’s an if, and honestly I don’t care, lol.
36% shooting vs 56% man. And Jaylen is almost at 25 per game vs 21.7

Hence why I said if he has a very inefficient game and Tatum puts up 30/10/10 on good efficiency. These awards can swing wildly on recency bias pretty quickly. Like I said Brown is in the lead, so not sure what there is to complain about regarding my post, lol. I would say it’s unlikely for Brown to be inefficient, but I don’t want to jinx the dude.

I think their D has had a few min spurt each game where they have been solid (without Luka at times) but I don't think it's been good. I think what's happening to our offense is our defense, we are exerting a lot of energy there. It's hard to stop them even if they aren't passing a lot, Cs are out there really working hard on defense, and then having to come down and score is taxing. Two series in a row with great offense/offenders always coming, it takes a lot that our guys aren't getting credit for. Sure, Pacers don't have one superstar offender, but they have a top-tier offense that runs teams ragged. We are fighting our butts off.

Seems like a lot of Boston fans don't like Lively as a person and/or player. But I am Guessing many would be singing his praises If he did that For Boston. No matter what you think of him as a player, he will continue to get better a bit every year.

With that Said Queta can be our Lively.. I hope.

Guy just doesn't have the lateral quickness.

I have an alternate take on the 6th foul. I think it was him checking himself out of the game because he knew he was an embarrassment on D. He learned from Kyrie’s Celts performance vs the Bucks.

Jaylen definitely winning that fmvp award based off on 3 games stats and overall impact on both ends. JT’s shooting slump’s the reason he won’t be getting it. Unless he goes nuclear next game, and JB underperforms. I just hope they don’t try to outperform each other next game, like what happened with KD and Steph. Praying for Jrue to score 30. I wouldn’t mind him getting the award honestly lol. So the pitting match against the Jays would tone down a notch.

Lively is on the tyson chandler, rudy gobert projection. Good rim protector, good rebounder and lob threat, but doesn’t have the ability to score on his own. He can still develop a shot though if he works on it.

This is why Hauser was so huge for us (and Porzingis earlier). They’re coming in mentally fresh to hit those shots.

Some posters would love him for his tenacity and some would hate him because he can’t stretch the floor. Got to admit for a 19 year old he is pretty good. Bright future.

Spoiler:
Captain_Caveman wrote:Time to take out the trash. Let's clear up a few things here.

#1, you don't even get to speak to me about anything after all the L's I have hung on you the last couple of years. I have left a mark on quite a few posters in my time here, but Jaylen's complete collapse vs the Heat last year (and struggles vs the Ws the year before) were about as bad as I've gotten anyone. It was a basketball lesson I never wanted to give, but you insisted and you got it. You know it. I know it. You know I know it. It's why you only post to or about me. I'm sure it stings, but just man up and take the L already. I own you like a dog. Are we clear on that? Because I sure am lol.

#2, brooooo, we aren't playing anyone right now. This might be the weakest path to the Finals anyone has ever had. I'm here for it, but victory laps over beating these injured slob teams? Ooooof. Have some pride. With the same path in the East, this team would have had half a dozen Finals trips in the last 8 years or so. You all know that. And we almost lost Game 1 to these slobs! First semi-real game we've had all year and we played like complete **** in the 4th before the refs and the Pacers literally handed us the game. Jaylen may have saved our season with that shot, ffs.

#3, on Jaylen, I am super impressed with his demeanor right now. Still the same floor game with all its strengths and weaknesses, but he's made a leap mentally IMO. Dude is playing pissed, and I love it. Not sure exactly how many times this team was supposed to choke in the playoffs before the light finally went on for our star players, but Jaylen gets it now. He's super focused and the constant defensive lapses appears to be gone. This is promising in what is likely our last shot to get over the hump with this team. If we don't title, we become the Buffalo Bills. The Webber Kings. No one should be confused about that, and I'm very happy that Jaylen isn't.

#4, Mazzulla? Come on, man. Just trying to survive this guy. Call it whatever you want to, but he is a deer in the headlights in tight games.

Because I don't feel like typing it again, please refer to my last post to you.

As to tonight, woooof. I just want to know who is driving the getaway car. That would have been a crushing loss.

If they handed out trophies after 3 wins, Jaylen would definitely get Finals MVP. He had a very strong second half and was not the reason we almost blew that game in horrifying fashion. The way he is playing now is the exact response a player should have to getting humiliated by Caleb **** Martin in the playoffs the season before. Love to see it.

It is nevertheless worth mentioning that a big part of his success is Dallas doubling Tatum up top while allowing Jaylen to go iso on an injured Luka all game. I'm sure Tatum wishes it were the other way around. Dallas just does not have the personnel for us and have picked their poison on that.

Mazzulla? I'm just glad we are the better team because we played the last 11 minutes of that game like we learned basketball from watching youtube videos. Super disturbing. Hat tip to Luka for fouling out.

As Tatum said himself, and partly while defending himself and team mates, they're gonna have to do this again for everyone to actually give them credit, at least he knows that, or appears to.

Any star junior high player knows the risk/reward of that situation and is playing the ole’ defense which by the way up to that point had been his specialty.

I hope Brown wins the fMVP, he deserves it, and needs the praise from the national media. It's been lacking for years, and he clearly wants it. If Tatum gets it after the media dogged him for the first 2 games, and he was trash in the 4th of game 3 id be shocked, even if I think he's had a better series than people think and the stats say.

Right now it's Browns, and only Jrue coming out and putting up a 40 piece or hitting a game winning shot could sway it. Browns made all the clutch baskets, he's had ALL the highlight plays, and has been our most consistent offensive player while also being a stand out defender in his own right. He;s had some crazy blocks so far, and has picked everyones pocket.

He deserves t, and I expect a monster game from his to close it out in game 4

I saw a claim (but didn't check it myself) that KP has as many blocks in this series as the entire Dallas team (5 each).

We absolutely dog-walked the competition through the entire playoffs, with Jaylen as arguably our best player, and he's still acting like he's been right all along. He's even willing to promote the idea that this is "not a real championship". Yeah, we got lucky with some matchups, but every championship team has something "lucky" you can point to.

Since Jaylen, according to him, "already cost us a few titles" he'll never be wrong, at least in his mind. I'm not sure I'd go so far as to diagnose narcissism, but certainly egomania.

He has a fragile ego.

Dunno if you saw the stat line, but they showed the top three all-time worst performances in a playoff series, in terms of getting blown by in single coverage.
Luka had the top three worst performances ever, all three this year, with the Boston series being the absolute worst
(Approx. 67% of the time when someone drives on him, they blow by!)
