This will be the board (and me) every game the second half of next season and especially when the playoffs start hoping we finally have a healthy team

Well, Tatum not being the guy was answered by.....Jaylen. He's the guy. He was the alpha that powered them through.

So I think the rest of the NBA is now in worse shape vis a via the Celtics going forward. C's have their alpha.

Even George is getting in on the act.

Think our best case out of last night is the fact that I don't want to ever again hear how the Bucks 2021 title was due to injuries to other players. Boston didn't have to face Embiid, Butler or Giannis.

And only Jrue as an aging main player. Well I guess Horford if you consider him main still. And no impending FA issues. But just saying this team isn't going anywhere anytime soon as long as the owners are willing to pay a boatload of tax. Since Tatum/Brown are more like top 10-20 guys rather than top 5 guys it doesn't mean they're unbeatable, but barring injury or owner cheeping out they're always gonna be there the next handful of years.

Which is funny because this time last year Brown was worse than Middleton and many said there was no way they would trade Khris for him if possible.

Ah yes, the player averaging fewer points, rebounds, and assists in the playoffs, and likely the worse defender is ACTUALLY the alpha.

Brown is the most overrated player in the league because he scores a lot of points and makes all of them look maximally difficult.

I think his limitations would be more exposed elsewhere. The spacing he gets now is just perfect for his style of play. He doesn't have the game to create for others but he's awesome at what he does (get downhill and score at will). Also a great 1v1 defender when he's locked in.

I bet George Karl also thought that "two-way guy" Gary Payton was an upgrade over Ray Allen when he made the single worst trade in franchise history. Because, you know, he's a **** moron and all....

Celtics have a balanced team that everybody can play defense and everybody hits 3s. They don't have the amazing superstar but they don't have a weak link either. We have to become a good defensive team again, if we had played the Celtics Beasley and Lillard would have been continuously hunted on defense

They have been very lucky on match ups though, east was injured and Dallas was the easiest opponent they could get from the west. Still deserving champions, they dominated the regular season and beat whoever was in front of them in the playoffs

After this finals, I don’t want to see another Middleton trade unless a shot creator is coming back. If Dallas had anybody else that could create their own shot and make plays for other guys, they would be up 2-1. Thinking that just Dame and Giannis would be enough scoring against tops defenses is crazy.

This is going to be sweet when we beat the Celtics in the ECF next year and the Nuggets in the finals.

And Philly on the way there, just for fun.

Dame just has to use the criticism for bulletin board material and be super motivated next season, winning is all anybody cares about in the end and how the trade will ultimately be judged.

Haven't had a healthy post-season run since the 21 chip season. And even then, Giannis make a miraculous comeback from Gumbying his knee.

And the starting 2 guard missed the playoffs.

I have been fully onboard with keeping Midds for a long time. He's the literal perfect 3rd option for us, we just need the 4-7th guys to not be Pat/Jae/etc. Ajax and Green need to make a leap and replace them. I'd welcome Bev back. Bobby is fine IMO. Brook is almost too situational for a deep run but what are our alternatives barring a good trade that will be hard to come by. We need Midds 100%.

Prob sour grapes but I'm kinda shocked this Mavs team made it to the finals. Makes me think the West was pretty bad this year
