Not sure, but she added another 7 turnovers to her elite level turnover stats.

Meh. Don’t wallow in negativity just because there are too many terrible humans out there using Caitlin to spew their trash. Any of us actually hanging around understand her rookie flaws.
She followed the early MO of failing to take care of the ball, but thought she generally did a solid job late deferring and getting Aliyah the ball. That’s an enormous adjustment for a player that’s been the center of the universe for her team for years.
Great to see such a strong game from Aliyah. Hopefully it’s the start of a virtuous circle. The more they establish Boston, the more room it frees for Caitlin, Kelsey, et al.
I’d assume by record and what my eyes just saw the Dream aren’t anything special, but positive steps are positive steps for the Fever.

Obviously after the Liberty and the Sun, there is a big dropoff in the conference.
As for how is CC's rookie year going to go? Ups and downs?

I think so too. By establishing Boston in the post it's making the defense have to scramble to provide help inside which then will free up room for the two perimeter scorers to attack. At least in theory. That's a lot better than having CC and Mitchell taking turns trying to get theirs off while the ball doesn't move

Growing pains, but this goes back to what I was saying before. They gotta mix it up with her, she shouldn't be on the ball every possession. Off ball actions to free her up for shots, have her set screens to cause switches, etc. There's a lot that they can do with her and the defensive gravity that she draws that they're not.

Bruh save the lecture for your children.
I can say she an elite turnover machine. I don’t care about her growing pains.
It’s like not being able to say Scoot Henderson is not a brick layer as a rookie.
This basketball at the end of day. Her handle is buns and she can’t take care of the ball.
Negativity…. would be to personally attack her which I did not.
So like I said …..save the lecture for your kids.

Re: How is CC's rookie year going to go?
I’m giving fair warning to anyone, I don’t need to be explained anything about CC.
She is fair game to be critiqued, end of story.
There is no kid gloves for top rookie dudes in the NBA when they playing like trash, and they won’t be any for CC.
Again this is a basketball forum.
I call my own team rookies out if they playing like schit.
Dollar Bills you already knows this bro.

I may be mistaken but it has a vibe of “in response to them” instead of - I’m just making this criticism because we often criticize on a web forum. Saying don’t let the turd brains out there turn you overly cynical.
Regardless. You do you.

Bit of a weird comp, but she reminds me of Trevor Lawrence’s rookie year
Heralded as a generational prospect, comes in to one of the worst teams in the league, not the worst player in the league but disappointing relative to the hype, not helped by poor coaching
I think it should be clear Clark can’t do it all on her own right now and she needs coaching, either to take responsibility from her when she screws up or to put her in better positions to succeed with the current talent on the roster.

That's a good comparison.
Clark is a rookie. Bad efficiency and turnovers are not surprising to me, it's gonna happen. People needed to pump their brakes on her from the moment she got drafted but they grossly underestimated just how high the level of talent in the league is.
I am way more critical of how the coach is using this roster. It shouldn't have taken this many games to start feeding Boston and letting the perimeter players playing off of her. That being said, Clark has got to learn how to be effective off ball just as much as she needs to improve her play with the ball in her hands. She clearly needs to be coached up, she needs to protect the rock better, she needs to mature(stop crying to the refs and play through it), and frankly she needs to get stronger. Those are my main critiques so far.
I'm just arm chair Monday morning QBing here but there are so many different wrinkles that you can throw in to make Clark effective regardless of where she is on the court.

Today's Clark was the player that fans hoped/expected to see. Not just loading up the stat sheet, but being a true floor general. That's how you want your PG to play.
To give credit where credit is due, her teammates stepped up their games bigtime, and that helped Clark a lot. Luka is capable of playing 1 versus everybody and still getting 30/10/10, but Clark is not. She needs to have at least some sort of system. I mean, she can do a fair amount by herself, but she can't do what the Fever has so far been asking of her. Today, her teammates filled their roles, and that made a big difference.

Speaking of comparisons, you often hear Clark compared to Magic and Bird, because she has brought new eyes to the league. That seems like a good comparison, but Clark is actually a mix of Bird and Magic rolled together, because she's the great shooter mixed with the assist master.

i think it's dame cause she has more of a scorers mentality than a passers one
i think the steph comparisons were a bit unfounded. she just doesn't have stephs off-ball game

How the fuccccck can CC be compared to both magic and bird bringing eyes to the league… when Reese is Magic.
CC gets the power of both the black player and the white player.

I love how a guard who has a sloppy handle gets magic comparison when she just makes regular passes. Her passes have no sauce like Magic ,she don’t have Magic vision either but she gets to be magic as well as bird….
Magic and Bird was about a black and a white talent bringing eyes to the league because of their rivalry, but here the white talent, CC gets to have the impact of both players strictly.
This is BS I’m talking about when people don’t think Reese has anything to do with more eyes on league.

Re: How is CC's rookie year going to go?
I think for me personally I want to accept and analyze CC's game at face value without constantly comparing her to her male counterparts past and present. It doesn't really do anything for me and her game is nothing like Bird, Magic, or Steph for that matter. I can go into detail but she has her own style, and the combination of shooting, passing, and rebounding ability is what makes her a special high upside talent.
